What to wear for a stylish home workout (and workout selfie)

As a lockdown seems to be impending, and many of us are back to working from home again, it’s time to get back into some habits we lost late last year.

No, we’re not talking Dalgona coffee and banana bread. We’re talking home workouts.

As gyms continue to be closed, there’s no time like the present to get back in shape with a home workout or seven. Whether you join one of those virtual live sessions or you’re fully subscribed to a service, there’s plenty of proof in the sugar-free pudding that home workouts can actually work wonders — even if all you do is meditate.

One surefire way to get us motivated is always fashion. Here, we’ve put together some stylish activewear from some of our favourite brands to get you going. Whether it’s to shed a bit of that holiday weight or to look grand on the ‘gram (do you even lift bro if you don’t even share it bro?), these are sure to keep you fit and fashionable.

Biker shorts are having a bit of a hot minute lately, especially as we’re finding they look great with an oversized tee for grocery runs. We love these high-waisted panelled shorts by Twin Fantasy with a bold and rebellious print for a fun way to switch things up.

We loved tie-dye in 2020, and we will continue to love it in 2021. If you’re lucky enough to be locked down by the beach, here’s a great pair of leggings for morning jogs along the shore. If you’re locked down in the city, you can wear these and dream.

Continuing on with our love for subtle tie-dye, Pointe Studio has put together a charming set of two delicate tie-dye socks and one solid grey pair. Designed by a group of female fitness professionals, the socks come with rubber grips on the soles to hold your form for pilates, yoga, or barre in particular.

Did anyone say “couple’s workout?” If you’re engaging in a home workout with your boo, get a little cheeky with it and sport this Alita graphic tank. It makes for a great coverup if you’re outdoors in the chilly mornings, or just heading down to the local market post-workout for a pressed juice.

We can already see ourselves rising with the sun and sporting this sunshine-hued ensemble. Featuring a geometric design the sports bra comes with a small zip for adjustment and is comfortable to wear from yoga to zumba.

Few loungewear brands got so much attention during this pandemic than Sporty & Rich. Whether you’re sporty and rich or not, flaunt these track pants that are made from fleece-lined cotton-jersey for a soft and cosy fit. Granted, it’s likely you won’t even want to work out once you slip these on, but we won’t tell if you don’t.
