Tiffany & Co. has jewellery pretty much covered and now, they’re offering the ultimate, invisible accessory for all — the new Tiffany & Co. fragrance. Created by perfume pioneer Daniela Andrier of Givaudan, the floral musk is a fresh take on the most precious ingredients of traditional haute perfumery. At the launch party last Thursday, we were excited to witness the unveil and try on this first-ever Tiffany fragrance.
Like all of the jeweller’s creations, the Tiffany & Co. fragrance is bright, sensual and long-lasting. The perfume is an earthy floral scent with notes of vert de mandarine, precious iris flower and refined patchouli. The citrus qualities of mandarin orange melds harmoniously into the delicate facets of the noble iris. The citrus here is more discreet, giving softness, transparency and a touch of freshness to the patchouli and musk base.
The way that Tiffany & Co. selected the elegant iris as the hero ingredients is particularly noteworthy. The brand’s association with the iris goes back to the early design sketches and the flower has always been deeply interwoven with this premium jeweller’s DNA. Most prominently, the exquisite iris brooch set with dermatoid garnet blossoms and Montana sapphires earned Tiffany the grand prize at the Paris Exposition in 1900. In perfume, the iris flower takes on the loveliest warm, soft quality. The powdery scent of iris is more sheer, revealing a subtle facet of the Tiffany fragrance and creating a fine feminine trail.
Mirroring all the sparklers offered at Tiffany & Co., the glass bottle is shaped to resemble the brand’s most iconic diamond cuts. The base recalls the 128.54-carat Tiffany Diamond while the sleek lines of the shoulders mirror the house’s Lucida-cut diamond engagement ring. Adorned with a Tiffany-blue collar, the glass flacon also has metallic plaque with the Tiffany & Co. mark engraved. And of course, the delicate blend comes in the brand’s famous ribbon-tied blue box, an internationally recognised symbol of style.
