BALENCIAGA’s Track.2 Trainers
Okay, the Summer season just came out of nowhere. It seems like only yesterday it was January! Most Bangkokians may get to wear bikinis all year around, but I usually avoid doing so ike the plague. But when summer officially arrives, it’s officially bikini season and there’s no escaping. And wow, was I not prepared. I have been a little lax on the gym routine in recent months and am just now having to jump back into it. My motivation? A chance to get to work out in these super awesome trainers by BALENCIAGA (approx. THB 26,000), introduced in the most recent Fall 19 Collection. With an upper composed of 176 separate pieces, and a bunch of other cool features like faux-worn athletic layers, an open-air structure and a metallic mesh, these shoes have a more complex makeup than its predecessor. These will have me running into fitdom in no time. I still can’t decide which colour I like best though, can you? FYI, these will be available to purchase in Thailand at Emquartier from 25 June onwards. – Catherine Napalai Faulder, Managing Editor
Nike Pro 8” Shorts
Sometimes you just need some extra motivation to go work out, and looking forward to wear some cool new workout gear is sure to get you moving. I find leggings can feel too suffocating for the legs (not to mention quite sweaty in Bangkok). These Nike Pro 8” shorts (THB 1090) combine the flexibility that leggings offer with the breeziness of wearing gym shorts. The logo waistband gives a modern street touch, and the biker short trend also means you could easily rock this athletic-glam look outside of the gym too. Just pair it with a cool oversized T-shirt and swap the trainers for killer heels. – Karn Chatikavanij, Style Writer
Kate Spade’s Banana Leaf Clutch
Did you know this was a clutch? Because I didn’t. Here’s when tropical plant meets fashion. This irresistible fancy banana leaf clutch got me going bananas when I first saw it. Kate Spade’s summery-styled Banana Leaf Clutch (approx. BHT 10,764) adds a tropical punch to your day. I love that it’s so novel and gives a cheerful vibe. This leather clutch boasts gold-tone hardware with emerald leather trim along with a beige jacquard lining. I am so comfortable using cross-body bags because I always have too many things to fit in my purse, but it often gets heavy on my back. I guess it’s time to be minimal – its single interior zip pocket can surely fit in all my essential items. From Kate Spade’s Flights of Fancy collection, this one is a must-have. – Alisha Pawa, Branded Content Creator
SHU GLOBAL’s Platform Sneakers
Considering I’m merely 160 cm tall, most of the time, pom pom flat shoes just don’t do the trick for me. But after encountering these Shu Fur Baby Platform Sneakers 4” in grey shade crafted by SHU GLOBAL (THB 1,790) I knew these babies were for me. Though the faux fur will not make an elegant statement for my look, it will sure comfort my feet by enveloping them in its comfy wool. Not to mention the four inch heels that have become my go-to height hack. Undoubtedly, this pair is built for comfort and coolness. – Kankanit Wichiantanon, Staff Writer.
Maison Kitsuné x ADER error Phone Case
If you know me, you’ll know I change my phone case like I change my (goodness, I could put many a word in here) bed sheets. Every 1-2 weeks, I like to switch it up. I consider it the modern equivalent of getting new wallpaper. A fresh phone case boasts a fresh new me for the month, and for this month I’ve got my eye on a very special collab. I have long wanted to own something by the ever-cool Maison Kitsuné, and doubling up in cool points, I am really feeling their second collab with eclectic Korean label ADER Error. This phone case (THB 2,030) features an amalgamation of both streetwear brands’ logos, and the iconic Maison Kitsuné fox in blue. It’s a clean-cut case design, and granted, its white colour is sure not to last all too long, but I love the simplicity and the aura of exclusivity it boasts. I’m never going to be as hip (I use words like ‘hip’) as French or Korean streetwear fashionistas, but now at least my phone’s outfit can be. It’s the little things. — Lisa Gries, Staff Writer
Lately I’ve found myself rushing around town so much. If you’re like me and want to be able to quickly get somewhere without compromising your outfit, then opt for a pair of cool sneakers that go with everything. I love Gucci’s new line of sneakers for their perfect blend of comfort, modern silhouette, and edgy design. I’d always choose a beige pair of shoes as staple footwear because that’s the most versatile colour with its lux subtlety and chic sophistication. But these Gucci sneakers (THB 27,800) really kick it up a notch with the graphic art design – a simple but striking pair of lips and the ‘Gucci’ print. They’re great for adding a spark of humour and character to your effortlessly cool on-the-go outfit. You could even pair them with a suit; they’ll prevent that “mum” look that often happens when pairing sneakers with a formal outfit. – KC
