Weekly Obsessions: Chanel shopping bag

Chanel Shopping Bag

Say no to plastic bags, but definitely say yes to a Chanel shopping bag (THB 174,000). The mixed-fibre net bag’s bright, beachy colours are enough to make anyone happy, but who can ignore the iconic mini lambskin bag attached to it? There’s a cute sense of humour to this Spring collection shopper. What I love about it is the fact that you’re essentially carrying two bags, and then saying “Oh, this Chanel handbag? It’s just an accessory — for my shopping bag.” Funny and chic, the two-for-one deal is practical too; you can keep your phone, keys, and lipstick separate from your fruits and veggies. I never thought I’d say this, but I can’t wait to go grocery shopping. — Karn Chatikavanij, Style Writer

OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M

There are many things I love about OMEGA’s iconic Seamaster Diver 300M collection. For starters, the dive watch and I were born in the same year, and celebrate 25 years of awesomeness in 2019. We’re both going through major makeovers to commemorate this feat, with the new OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M in ceramic and titanium (THB 282,000) paving the way for me with a very sleek and stylish new look. The bold 43.5mm timepiece is now available with a polished black ceramic case and titanium caseback, with a black ceramic ring with diving scale in white enamel. The signature laser-engraved waves are still present on the dial as ever, yet are raised a little from the surface unlike in the core collection. It’s all in the details, really, resulting in both a sexy and sturdy timepiece that pairs well with both a dive suit and a tuxedo. Lest we forget, Daniel Craig is the ambassador for the Seamaster Diver 300M campaign, and he can pull off both looks immaculately. There’s my spirit animal. Here’s my spirit watch. — Lisa Gries, Staff Writer

Senada Wanderlust Dress

There’s no denying: the city is now wrapped in hot heat 24/7. So to embrace Bangkok’s ruthless warmth, I know summer clothing has to come into play. Though I’ve always been wild for floral dresses, the new collection of Spring-Summer outfits from “Wanderlust” by Senada in particular has me feeling some type of way. Inspired by the evergreen landscape of Grindelwald, Switzerland, the pattern (namely “Grindelwald Print”) used for this collection conjures a sense of sublime found solely in nature. With light and bright materials, each dress — especially this one (THB 9450) — gives the comfort and cheer I absolutely need for this season. — Kankanit Wichiantanon, Staff Writer

M.A.C Boom, Boom, Bloom Collection Kabuki Doll Eye Shadow Palette

Spring is officially in one week’s time, but I’ve been “eyeing” this cherry blossom eye shadow palette from M.A.C for a while now. Like a second Christmas, the Sakura season has everyone getting ready for floral festivities. And, named after the dramatic style of Japanese theatre, this blossom-tinted eye shadow palette (THB 1950) will fit you right in with the scene. M.A.C. never fails to amuse me with their names for shades: here we have ‘Tokyo Drifter’, ‘Don’t Be Koi!’, and ‘Kyoto Kitty’, which really get you in the mood to book flights for Japan. If you’re packing for a trip to catch a glimpse of the famous pink scenery, this M.A.C palette should obviously be going straight in your suitcase. — KC

Weekly Obsessions: Lyn Around

Lyn Around Pica Della Bag

I have a thing for really fun bags. Bags that are shaped like champagne bottles, sardine cans, or disco balls? I’ve got ‘em. Over-the-top colours and funky shapes? I live for ‘em. Thereby putting the ‘play’ into ‘playful accessories’, I’ve long had a love affair with young Thai fashion brand Lyn Around. From their latest Spring/Summer 2019 I’ve got my eye on this Pica Della bag (THB 3490),  which charmingly resembles a picnic basket. Outdoor picnics in the park aren’t truly madly deeply a thing in Bangkok (I ate a chocolate ice cream outside the other day, or rather, it ate me and all the front of my white blouse), yet it’s sweet to know we can still dress as if we were teleported to Hyde Park in the spring. A fun way to play up any casual outfit, or also, transport a couple fresh baguettes around town. The options are endlessly fun with this one. — LG
