The Clean Plate cookbook by Gwyneth Paltrow

I’ve had the sudden urge to get on the healthy bandwagon again, after a while of not eating quite right. Junk food, microwave meals from 7-11 and not to mention all those 9-course degustation menus I’ve been trying out have really had an impact on, not my weight, but my skin, which has had a bit of a breakout. I could easily blame it on Bangkok’s pollution, but it’s also a known fact that you are what you eat and if you’ve been eating rotten, you’ll feel rotten, and your skin will suffer. When I very recently saw Gwyneth Paltrow being interviewed about The Clean Plate, her new cookbook on The Ellen Show, I knew I just had to get a copy. The recipes are quick, healthy and perfect for someone who isn’t a Nigella Lawson in the kitchen. This book has more than one hundred recipes that focus on clean ingredients and great flavours that bring great health benefits. I’m particularly in love with all the smoothies in this book. Thank you Gyyneth! You can buy this online or at at Kinokuniya bookstore for THB 1,148. – Catherine Napalai Faulder, Managing Editor

Dolce & Gabbana DG Girls Embellished Jacquard Shoulder Bag

A black leather bag is a timeless piece. But when I need that bling bling effect to brighten up my dull outfit, my hands seem to always reach for this DG Girls Embellished Jacquard Shoulder Bag by Dolce & Gabbana (THB 141,499). Embellished fully with colourful crystals, this vintage baroque jacquard shoulder bag is everything but old-fashioned. The bag simply carries that shimmering charm, which only accentuates my cheerful personality and style. – Kankanit Wichiantanon, Staff Writer.

Karl Lagerfeld Mini Leather Choupette Handbags

Karl Lagerfeld may be a giant fashion icon, but it’s more important to me that he’s a huge cat lover too. Lagerfeld has a whole collection of clothes and accessories inspired by his cat, Choupette. Naturally, everything in it is adorable. I especially love this series of mini-bags (THB 16,500) which play with fun, bold colours and unashamedly makes you feel twelve years old again. If it’s weird to take your cat out for walks, then this is an acceptable alternative. Try pairing it with a girly mini-dress, or switch it up with a leather jacket and ankle boots. Whether you’re a Halle Berry Catwoman or a Taylor Swift cat lady, you’ve got to get your paws on these. Find them online or at Zen Central World (Level 3). – Karn Chatikavanij, Style Writer

HARNN Restful Sweet Orange & Rosemary Essential Oil Blend

HARNN has long been one of my favourite natural body care brands. I drink their tea at work, I use their hand cream before I sleep, and now, I fall a little bit in love every time I use their latest Restful Sweet Orange & Rosemary Essential Oil Blend (THB 4200). It’s part of the new ‘The Legend of Organic’ collection, which celebrates the brand’s 20th anniversary, and was inspired by a blend of Thai and Western culture. I too am a blend of Thai and Western culture, and so naturally, we became quick friends. I love the combination of the sweet orange with the savoury rosemary in this oil, for an aroma that instantly relaxes me and soothes any and all anxiety. Since its pioneering beginnings in the organic beauty industry in 1999, HARNN always manages to embrace a sense of oriental wisdom with a unique attribute of contemporaneity, and with this collection, they’ve really done it again. HARNN, this Valentine’s Day, you have my heart. — Lisa Gries, Staff Writer

Paul Smith People Print Shirt

I really admire Paul Smith’s good eye for art. His classic English tailoring matched with quirky prints always makes for a charming look. I have a weakness for playful prints and Paul Smith’s People print is my current favourite. There’s just so much joyful detail in it. The colourful characters are personal friends of Paul Smith as well as iconic figures from previous collections. If you look carefully, the designer himself also makes an appearance. The shirt is carefully tailored and a handsomely slim-fit. A great quirky twist to a classic British staple, it’s the kind of shirt that tells you the wearer has a good sense of humour as well as style. Find it online or at Siam Paragon (Level 1) and Central Embassy (Level 1). THB 13,500. – KC
