Jim Thompson ‘Icon of Siam’ Scarf

I’ve always been a big fan of Jim Thompson, not only because I have always been a diehard advocate for our local silks, but also because there is something deeply elegant and charming about the Thai brand’s designs. Following the opening of a new flagship store at ICONSIAM, Jim Thompson has now unveiled an exclusive ‘Icon of Siam’ scarf (THB 5200), featuring a very special motif. Inspired by the life and times along the Chao Phraya river, it’s a delicate celebration of our rich culture and tradition. I love that the square scarf looks like a work of art I could easily use both to dress up my walls or my outfit, and I love that it is made of 100% silk. Where Thai pride meets Thai craftsmanship: absolutely gorgeous. — Lisa Gries, Staff Writer

Weekly Obsessions: Mr Leight Sunglasses

Mr Leight Sunglasses

Having just debuted in Thailand from California, Mr Leight glasses are at the top of my shopping list right now. This is eyewear that combines intricate Japanese craftsmanship with the fashion-forward, laid-back vibes of sunny LA. My favourite pair from the new collection is the ‘Rei’ (THB 24,500) — a preppy vintage-style frame that looks like it’s jumped straight out of an old school Ivy League movie. The frame construction is rooted in Japanese architectural minimalism, with beta-titanium cable temples that add flexibility for a perfect fit. It’s got a pretty versatile design too, giving you a chic formal look with an underlying playful twist. — Karn Chatikavanij, Style Writer

Weekly Obsessions: Mr Leight Sunglasses, Balenciaga

Balenciaga Shopping Phone Holder Bag

So my logic is: if my wallet needs a bag to hold it, then it wouldn’t be silly if something very important like my can’t-live-without phone needs a bag for itself, too. That’s why I absolutely adore this Balenciaga Shopping Phone Holder (approx. THB 27,600). Crafted from black squared leather and embellished with a plain yet cool white Balenciaga logo, the bag is simple slash sleek and sophisticated — which is why it’s totally worth the investment. — Kankanit Wichiantanon, Staff Writer

Weekly Obsessions: Mr Leight Sunglasses, Hayward

Hayward Rainbow Mini Shopper Python Tote Bag

I have always been partial towards rainbow-themed hues being infused in fashion. From lustrous tones to opalescent sheen, pretty much everything shimmery tends to get my attention. There is just something so outrageously beautiful about Hayward’s Rainbow Mini Shopper Python Tote Bag (approx. THB 27,474). Dipped in a holographic rainbow, this tote bag is crafted from python skin, and is also very tropical to look at. While it takes you by surprise, Hayward ensures that you feel like Hollywood royalty by making it red-carpet-worthy, as well as a chic one for relaxed Sunday brunches. I love it. — Alisha Pawa, Staff Writer

Laura Mercier

Laura Mercier Effortless Rose Lip Collection (Limited Edition)

I’m going to admit one thing right here, right now: I am not a make up person. I don’t know how to contour, I use concealer in all the wrong ways, and because I have really sensitive skin, always have to steer away from foundation or AA, BB, CC, DD, what-have-you creams. But because of that reason, I love a makeup product that calls itself ‘effortless’. Part of Laura Mercier’s latest limited edition line, I have been loving this luxe lip duet (THB 1350) composed of two timeless, classic hues. I’m a big fan of smearing lip liner over my full lip (yes I’m that person too), and I love this Parisian Rose shade for it. Highly pigmented with a rich and luminous shine, together with the Rouge Essentiel Silky Creme Lipstick, this is one killer combination — if I do say so myself. — LG

Badgley Mischka Blush Tulle Gown from Bchu Runway

Bchu Runway is a multi-label store in Siam Square that allows you the option of renting clothes rather than buying them. In a time when the fashion industry is producing so much waste with people buying clothes and only wearing them once, this kind of concept is a great way to tackle this issue. I’ve been infatuated with this Badgley Mischka blush tulle ballgown that’s available at Bchu Runway. You can choose to rent it for four days (THB 3500), eight days (THB 4900), or make the gorgeous dress yours forever (THB 43,100). If you’re someone who’s frequently going out and needing something new to wear each time, I’d definitely recommend Bchu Runway. It’s a lifesaver and a planet saver too. —KC
