Weekly Obsessions: Kate Spade

Kate Spade Year of the Pig Portia

Can we take a moment to appreciate how heart-wrenchingly cute this Kate Spade Portia Pig bag (THB 14,900) is?! I can’t stop squealing. Designed in celebration of the upcoming Lunar New Year and the Year of the Pig, many brands have been releasing zodiac-themed items, yet few have managed to karate chop me in the feels like this one. Made with smooth calf leather and a nappa body, I love the sweet shape of the bag, as well as the red colour contrast of the little pig ear against the little pig pink body. Handbags need not always be so serious, and this adorable cross-body (which, by the way, can also be carried as a strapless clutch) is charming proof thereof. Time to start the Year of the Pig in an oinkin’ adorable style. — Lisa Gries, Staff Writer

Weekly Obsessions: Dior

Dior Lip Addict Maximizer Gloss

I always secretly wished I had plump bee-stung lips. I find they have something very feminine and seductive about them, and they can make lip colours truly pop. Unfortunately, I wasn’t blessed with naturally full lips, yet I was blessed with make up, and this all new Dior Lip Addict Maximizer 2019 (THB 1390) has really been taking my look to the next level. I’ve always had a thing for Dior’s lip glosses, and this new rendition had me skipping to the beauty counter as soon as it dropped in Thailand. The glossy formula was designed to moisturise lips all the while giving them an incredible instant-volume effect, almost like getting botox without, well, actually having to get botox. The mint-vanilla scent and the delicate holographic pink colour are definitely a sweet added bonus too, and with its easy application and seductive glow, my pout so far year has been killing it. – LG

Weekly Obsessions: Sretsis

Stretsis Tamed Lovers Mug

Black is my obsession. I love my black coffee, and I loved this black Sretsis Tamed Lovers Mug as soon as I spotted it. I’m a Home writer by day, and when I’m at home at night, I love decorating my kitchen with cute design accents — especially if they come in the shape of a fine bone china mug that can hold all my favourite hot drinks too. An exclusive collaboration between Thai brand Sretsis and British brand House of Hackney, I have fallen for the dreamy yet dark magical garden vibe of this cup, and I love the image of the unicorn and the lion just chilling between the flowers as a sweet touch. So I am definitely wild for it. — Kankanit Wichiantanon, Staff Writer

Weekly Obsessions: Adidas

Adidas Falcon Shoes

Look, I’m going to be honest. I never really liked the chunky trainer trend. After all, it’s a trend that full-on even openly calls itself ugly. I’ve always been more of a minimalist Converse kinda gal, yet something about these Adidas Falcon Shoes (THB 4,700) has me considering a temporary conversion. I love the fact that the shoe is one beautiful ash pearl colour, and that its shape was inspired by the ‘90s (hi, nice to meet you, I’m a ‘90s kid through and through), and that it’s a chunky trainer without being too chunky or over the top. It still follows the minimal flair that I love, pairing well with a matching head-to-toe monotone camel look, or as a pop of cream colour to an all black look. As it turns out, I’m really starting to like chunky. (Do I get to meet Kanye now?) — LG

Weekly Obsessions: Mettique

Mettique Leica Q Camera Case

I have always been a fan of Thai fine leather goods maker Mettique, yet I only recently found out that their repertoire goes far beyond bags and small accessories, expanding to cigar cases, car key covers, and even Leica camera cases. I got super into film photography over the holidays, and have been trying my hand at digital photography for a while now too, so when I spotted these Mettique Leica Q Camera Cases (THB 18,800), I knew I needed one. Made with Asiatic reticulated python leather with a vegetable tanned Italian cowhide lining, the case offers a stylish way to dress up your Leica and give it a unique look. Mettique puts a lot of love into their products, and this 100% hand-stitched number is no different. Also, now I know my camera looks good even when the pictures I’m taking (learning how to master exposures and ISOs can be tricky!) aren’t always equally up to par. Phew, thanks Mettique. – LG
