Danish luxury design house Georg Jensen has just opened its doors in Thailand with the unveiling of its flagship store in Bangkok. A very glitzy affair, the launch was hosted by Duangkamol Vephula Waagensen, director of HW Trading, and attended by several A-list celebrities.
The 115-year-old brand is best known for its silverware that oozes timelessness and great craftsmanship. As such, this new store houses a curated collection of exceptional jewellery, watches, hollowware and homeware. The products reflect a Scandinavian design aesthetic marked by clean lines and functionality, while staying true to the brand’s commitment to premium quality.
The jewellery section features the brand’s classic archival pieces, as well as contemporary ones from recent collections. Jewellery is at the heart of the brand, as its founder, Georg Arthur Jensen, was a silversmith who made heads turn with his Art Nouveau creations way back in the early 1900s. The design house started out as a silversmith in Copenhagen in 1904 before registering its presence across the globe in countries such as Australia, USA, Japan, Singapore, Germany and more.
The new store showcases some exquisite pieces of jewellery designed by Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe, Swedish master jeweller, and the first woman silversmith of international repute. The classic Torun bangle and the graceful Dew Drop collection are testament to the late silversmith’s design acumen.
The home and living section has everything you need to set up a warm, inviting home, from table lamps, clocks and picture frames to signature décor pieces. The items invoke a variety of design influences from Art Nouveau to Art Deco and the Functionalist movement. Fans of minimalistic design will not be disappointed as modern, sleek pieces find a place here amidst classic ones. So step in to the store and find meaningful gifts for yourselves and your loved ones.
