The best staycation and hotel reopening deals in Phuket

If you’re itching for a slice of island life, know that you are not alone.

As travel starts to become more normalised (trying not to use the overused NN here), we’ve been enjoying a fair share of Bangkok staycations and Hua Hin vacations. In part, we owe this to a growing wanderlust that only became intensified during the lockdown, but in other parts it also comes from a great deal of deals.

Hotels across the country are offering never-before-seen reopening and staycation offers, making it even moreso irresistible to ‘make a weekend of it’ and book a stay. And as domestic travel — and airplane travel — has opened up again, we’ve got our eyes set on the islands.

What’s that saying? Who needs Santorini, Saint Lucia, or the Seychelles, when you have Phuket?

Perhaps it is not a saying, but it’s definitely a thought. Here, we’ve rounded up the best hotel reopening deals we’ve set our sights on for Phuket. With a long weekend coming up soon, it’s a great time to get booking.

Lastly, a note: whilst a lot of these deals are certainly very lucrative, you can find the very best hotel deals exclusive to Lifestyle Asia readers over on our LSA Curates microsite. Be sure to check it out.

Amanpuri

With a name that means as much as ‘place of peace,’ it’s hard not to opt for Amanpuri when planning an idyllic getaway from the city. Having reopened in the first week of July, the intimate Phuket hideaway is now offering an Andaman Escape programme, including daily breakfast and private return transfers for stays from a minimum of two nights. There’s also a special reduction on spa experiences (for which they are world-renowned) and for dining across all of the resort’s outlets. A serene sanctuary for reflection, relaxation, and rejuvenation at one of the island’s best.

Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas

We’re all about social distancing — even on vacation. Thereby, there’s nothing quite like your own private pool villa for that sense of calm away from the crowds. With a special residents’ package starting at THB 7500, Anantara Mai Khao Phuket is offering complimentary upgrades, 15% savings on food and drink, late checkout and roundtrip airport transfers, and a daily breakfast. Children get to eat for free for stays in two-bedroom categories too, so it’s a grand escape to pack up the fam and head right down to the beloved Mai Khao Beach.

Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach

We like the name of this campaign. Launching a ‘Summer Dreaming’ offer, Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa is celebrating its recent reopening with added perks that include daily breakfast for two and THB 1000 resort credit (for dining, spa, or room upgrades). This is particularly interesting given that rates start at just THB 2999+++, yet is thereby only valid for stays between 2 July and 30 September 2020. If you love the Marriott hotel brand, there’s also actually a whole host of interesting staycation deals to consider, as they’re offering 50% room rate discounts (!) on 42 properties across Thailand. Here’s the list for Bangkok and for outside of Bangkok, for your bookmarking.

The Slate

You should never miss out on a great staycation deal in Phuket, but you should particularly never miss out on a great staycation deal in Phuket if it is at a property designed by the vibrant hotel visionary that is Bill Bensley. A little industrial with those signature pops of colour and stripe, guests visiting The Slate will find rates starting at just THB 4050 per night from now until 23 December 2020. Included within this package is daily breakfast for two, roundtrip airport transfers, a welcome drink for each person, and late check-out until 2pm. There’s also a 10% discount on food and drink and 10% discount at the spa.

The Nai Harn

There is an irony in that The Nai Harn is probably one of the most loudly Instagram-recognised hotels on the island (its day beds are iconic) yet residing there in real life is everything far from noisy. Highly like-worthy, the peaceful resort nestled between cliff and near-private beach has not yet fully opened, but has a few offers for those who like to plan in advance. For stays between 31 July and 20 December, rates start at THB 2499 net, and include breakfast, a welcome drink, and early check-ins and late check-outs. We like planning future naps on day beds by the beach. We like them at The Nai Harn especially.
