The avid luxury traveller will long have been acquainted with Aman and its portfolio of the most high-end, exclusive, and secluded properties around the globe.

Now, the exclusive hotelier is slated to launch a more accessible sister brand that’s all about delivery connectedness, set to open three upcoming properties by 2022.

The 30-plus years hotel brand (32 hotels in 20 countries) has long had a niche focus on creating the most magical and awe-inspiring resorts around the world, many times in remote locations that require a bit of a trek to reach — whether it’s Amankora, a cluster of mountain lodges nestled deep in the Himalayas, or Amanyara, set on the beautiful Turks & Caicos islands.

Set in no less beautiful surrounds, the luxurious hotels of Janu will embrace the same core DNA as Aman — think impeccable design, unmatched service (the staff-to-guest ratio aims to be 3-to-1) and a strong sense of wellbeing — while also offering a more communal, social experience to target a younger generation of travellers. Pioneering a new direction for the brand, Janu resorts will aim to deliver guests a sense of inner harmony (Janu translates to ‘soul’ in Sanskrit), at the same time embracing a more energetic vibe for those seeking local immersion and purposeful human interaction.

“What with today’s modern fast-paced society, which has seen human connection and communication redefined by the digital world, we wanted to create a new hotel brand with a soul and with the aim of kick- starting human interaction again,” said Chairman and CEO Vladislav Doronin.

Janu hotels will feature an updated contemporary design largely embracing space and light, with a harmonious ambience furthering the sense of tranquillity and inner balance. A focus on social spaces help facilitate a sense of human interaction, while a robust wellness programme encourages guests to realign both physically and mentally.

In addition to wellness facilities and social events, the conscious lifestyle at Janu extends to a world-class dining and beverage program — a smart bid to capture the ever-growing generation of astute food travellers. Guests can expect to find cutting-edge gastronomy and craft cocktails in venues that pioneer the latest trends whether it’s low-temperature cooking or fermentation.

Janu is slated to launch with three exclusive properties which are currently under construction: Montenegro (2022), Al Ula in Saudi Arabia (2022) and Tokyo (2022). The flagship of the brand, Janu Montenegro will be the first to incorporate the brand’s serviced residence concept, inviting long-stay guests to truly immerse themselves in the Janu mindset and lifestyle.
