There’s nothing quite like a long romantic stroll along the beach with the one you truly love: your dog.
As many of us are dying to get out of the city, and airline travel still doesn’t feel all too comfortable, many of us are taking road trips outside of Bangkok for some fresh air and a change of scenery. The sea breeze can be great for your mental health, and getting away from the chaos of the Big Mango can be wholly refreshing. But why should only humans get to enjoy all this good stuff?
As much as staycations are becoming a trend in the city, petcations are an increasing trend by the beach. An opportunity for your dogs to run along the shore and enjoy the kind of spacious landscapes they could only dream of in Bangkok, it’s a nice way to get some exercise and bond with your furry family members.
Here, we’ve put together 5 pet-friendly hotels in Hua Hin that warmly welcome both you and up to two of your pets. Of course, it’s important to respect the hotel pet policies and guidelines, and ensure your pupper is on proper behaviour at all times — but we know we can trust this of your good boy. From pet beds to gourmet treats, read on for our pick of the mix.

SO Sofitel Hua Hin
One of our favourites on this list, it’s hard not to love the SO Sofitel Hua Hin even as a human. Artsy and playful in design, it’s long been a haven for couples and families seeking a colourful escape. For “furkids” the resort offers plenty of pet-friendly options too, ranging from SO Comfy rooms over to the SO Pool Villa. These are designed to be extra spacious, and the villas even come with their own private pool deck. Tanning session with your pet? Sundowners by the pool? Impromptu swimsuit dance pawty? You got it.
Pet-friendly policy: Both dogs and cats are welcome with a maximum of 2 pets per room. A surcharge of THB 1500 is applicable per pet.

Hyatt Regency Hua Hin
Located in Kao Takiap, we’ve long been coming to the Hyatt Regency especially for their infamous spa at The Barai. However, few know that the resort by the beach is also a pet-friendly hotel. Whilst your pooch won’t be allowed in the spa area, you can still hang out together and stay in designated pet deluxe rooms. These include a cute little bed for your pet, too.
Pet-friendly policy: Both dogs and cats are welcome with a maximum of 1 pet per room, not weighing over 10kg. A surcharge of THB 1000++ is applicable per pet.

Intercontinental Hua Hin Resort
For pets who enjoy afternoon tea, the Intercontinental Hua Hin actually allows pets into one of its dining outlets at the Tea Salon. Overlooking the beach, enjoy a cuppa tea while your puppy enjoys a bowl of water. For those pets who wish to stay the night, the resort permits pets within the villas, providing ample space (and even special pet cushions) for your furry friend to relax and play.
Pet-friendly policy: Both dogs and cats are welcome with a maximum of 2 pets at La Residence or 1 pet weighing less than 10kg at the Club Intercontinental Beach Villa. A surcharge is applicable.

The Peri Hotel Hua Hin
Formerly known as the Escape Hotel, the new Peri Hotel Hua Hin opened just last year, and offers a special room type for guests with pets. These are designed to house furry guests with designated beddings, bowls, and easy beach access (yes, there’s a dog or cat door). They’re really catering to all your dog’s needs, with a “private garden area for fresh air and doing their business” too.
Pet-friendly policy: Pet surcharge is included in the room rate.

V Villas Hua Hin
Whilst some pets like boutique stays, others like to live a life of luxury. For those puppies who want to kick back with a bubble bath in a private villa after a long day, the V Villas Hua Hin are a perfect fit. Pets are permitted in the award-winning villas here, with ample space in the garden for playing and exploring. The villa-only resort even provides some gourmet pet food for your pup, because what’s a petcation without some fine dining?
Pet-friendly policy: A surcharge of THB 4000 per dog, which is inclusive of dog food and treats.
