After plastic face shields, Dalgona coffee, and TikTok, it appears that the latest trend of the Bangkok minute is to go on a staycation.
A fine excuse to turn your #WorkFromHome situation into a #WorkFromHotel situation, and a means of feeding that insatiable wanderlust, the reopening of many Bangkok hotels could not come at a better time.
Many hotels are offering staycation deals while we wait for the airport to open again for international flights, and many are doing so with plenty of benefits to enjoy. Between early check-ins and food and drink credit, it’s a very unique time to take advantage of some very unique perks. That too, from a selection of really great hotels.
Whether you’re looking for any and every excuse to flaunt your resortwear linens, eat breakfast in bed, or simply escape the mundanity of your own home, here are the best, most interesting staycation and hotel reopening deals in Bangkok right now.

There’s something about The Sukhothai that is very oasis-like. Located in the heart of the business district with a peaceful aura nevertheless, it’s the ideal location to escape the hustle and bustle of Bangkok without really having to leave it. The staycation package is priced at THB 5500 net for a superior room, and includes breakfast for 2 persons and a 3-course lunch and dinner for up to 2 persons at La Scala Restaurant. A perfect weekend or week-day treat.

Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel
The Anantara Siam has taken an interesting approach to a staycation offer, and we kind of love it. Allowing Bangkokians and out-of-towners to escape whilst also caring for their looks, the Rajdamri Road hotel is offering a special ‘Cut Above The rest’ package which includes grooming appointments at the luxury hotel’s famed English barbershop Truefitt & Hill for gents, and Tara Beauty Salon for ladies. Leave it to the W Bangkok to always stray away from the conventional, and provide an offering that is uniquely designed for the urbanite with style. The first of three staycation packages, the Daydream Staycation Collection option includes a 2-day stay at THB 4499 net a night, including THB 1000 cash credit. The last staycation page, and possibly our favourite of the lot, is the Furry Exclusive. Emphasising that the hotel is a pet-friendly premise, pets get to actually stay for free during this period, with complimentary dog walking services twice per day, and treats and water free of charge. The catch? Only one pet is allowed per stay, and must not weigh above 18 kilograms. Rates start at THB 4299 net per night. All three packages also include daily breakfast for two, guaranteed early check-in at 7am and late check-out at 7pm, as well as 30% discount at the spa.
Whilst some of us love life in the heart of the city, others prefer the tranquility of the riverside. For the latter group, the Shangri-La Bangkok staycation package will surely be of interest. Here’s a really intriguing one. With multiple properties across Thailand (and a beautiful boutique hotel in Luang Prabang), Burasari Group has launched a unique initiative called ‘We Care We Share Vacay.’ Aiming to show gratitude to healthcare workers for their efforts during this time, the hospitality group will match each night booked with an e-voucher to be gifted by the booking guest to a deserving healthcare worker. This applies to bookings for guests staying until 22 November, and both room type and number of nights will be exactly matched. A wonderful way to give back, and get essential workers a much-needed vacation, too.
