Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Hong Kong’s most well-known luxury hotel group recently announced a global partnership with Klook, the travel activities and services booking platform that hosts over 60,000 travel experiences worldwide. By connecting guests with a whole new arena of experiences, the exciting new partnership is set to certainly disrupt the norms of traditional hotel stays, enabling hotel guests to instantaneously access some of the world’s best activities and in so doing, enhance their holiday moments.
How will this be done? Of course, with the help of a concierge, but not ‘concierge’ as we have traditionally understood the term. Having digitized the concierge process, the Shangri-La group and Klook have come together to create the hotel’s special Klook Concierge service, where guests will be able to discover and book Klook experiences at the tap of a, not bell, but tablet during their stay. The tablet at the hotel concierge will allow guests to redeem QR codes or e-vouchers; the hotel’s Golden Circle members will also be able to redeem their points for selected Klook experiences throughout Shangri-La properties in Bangkok, Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore.
Through this unique collaboration, the Shangri-La properties involved will be able to provide more unique travel experiences and benefits that are becoming ever more important for the luxury traveller, who is more informed than ever and of course, harder to please. Dinner on any moonlit river simply is not enough anymore as luxury travellers are always looking to take it a step further: think exclusive culinary wine-pairing journey presented by a Michelin-starred chef. Thanks to Klook Concierge, they can do so seamlessly.
Currently, those staying at Shangri-La properties in Bangkok, Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore are able to use the Klook Concierge service to book experiences and Golden Circle Members can redeem their Golden Circle Award Points from local experiences from over 500 restaurants as well as from CHI, a state-of-the-art pampering destination and spa located within every Shangri-La hotel.
The number of experiences are set to expand in the third quarter of 2019 to encompass the full 60,000 Klook experiences worldwide, offering guests access to everything from unique tours and must-eats to popular attractions and local transport. The Klook activity redemption initiative for Golden Circle members is set to be the first of its kind for a luxury hotel group.
And good news for Golden Circle members: during this initial phase of the Shangri-La X Klook partnership, members will be given 100 Golden Circle Award Points for every booking made via Klook Concierge. Additionally, Klook will offer a platform-wide discount of 5% on all its available experiences until 28 February, 2019.
