Fashion designer Chitose Abe’s Japan-based label Sacai is best known for its winning combination of edgy Japanese elegance combined with textured fabrics and unconventional silhouettes. Teaming up with luxury retailer Lane Crawford, Sacai has launched a creative fashion exhibition inspired by Abe’s own personal walk-in closet, filled with a host of the designer’s favourite pieces from shoes to ready-to-wear garments and makeup. Running from now through 26 December, the Sacai “Walk-In” featured highlights such as a collaboration with Nike for a special edition of Air Force 1 kicks, exclusive makeup products with Shiseido, and a special collaboration with BE@RBRICK.

To celebrate the opening of the Sacai “Walk-In”, the brand hosted an exclusive launch party, featuring an installation of the global capsule collection, now available in stores. The fashion designer extraordinaire herself was there to greet a handful of VIPs and fashion stars, and to introduce the inspiration behind her everyday wear pieces which all nod to the signature design elements of Sacai.
