4 make-up tips to get inspired by

Spring is here and so is red lips and Twiggy eyes. So take notes, because these are the key make-up looks this season!

Keep it simple — fresh faced beauty is the order at Chanel this season. Pair their blush features with soft pink lips and be trendy as the monotone make-up is here to stay. The Voyage de Chanel palette draws inspiration from the hues of Paris, London, New York and Tokyo to colour and illuminate the complexion. Four cities, four inspirations, four shades of blush and illuminating powders to chose from. But hurry, this baby is limited edition!

Experimental eye make-up is a trend that is occurring notoriously, and this season the feel is retro-meets-futuristic. As an ode to the infamous mod eyes of 60s supermodel Twiggy Lawson, Dior created an eyeliner perfect to use when wanting to put together the striking look. If you’re feeling bold, why not chose a white shade?

“I have a weakness for white, a colour that is both pure and very intense. I like using it to enhance another colour. First I apply the white and then yellow, for example, just above it to make the colour appear even more vibrant. In contact with white, black becomes more intense.” Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup.

Tom Ford is putting smoky eyes back on the fashion map, with his, almost three dimensional smoked out eye make-up. Each eye color quad is designed with four opulent complement shades that achieve multiple looks, from a bold, smokey eye, to a sexy slash of color and everything in between.

Velvety red lips is a firm feature that can be spotted all year around so there’s no denying it: red lipstick is a power move. This season, pair the bold beauty statement with polished skin and minimal make-up, or — in the case you’re feeling bold — with fierce eyeliner wings à la Twiggy, providing perfect balance to the uninhibited crimson lips.
