In this first instalment of Airpool Karaoke, James Corden reaches out to Kanye West for a new musical ride. This time, the two celebrities aren’t stuck in traffic, but rather 33 000 feet in the air. They are indeed using Kanye West’s own jet to complete the interview, that revolves mainly about the rapper’s new album.
James Corden is known for getting himself in crazy situations just for the laughs, and unless you’ve been living under a rock lately, you may know that Kanye West has just released, on October 25th, his ninth studio album. The religious effort is dubbed Jesus Is King, an affirmative title that shows Kim Kardashian‘s husband’s new devoted commitment to the Christian faith.
Surrounded by the one hundred voice choir that the artist has been tapping for his Sunday Service gatherings, Corden and West exchange about family life, religion and the heavenly-sent success that the Chicagoan has been receiving, via his Yeezy line. “As humbly as I can put it, I feel like God is using me to show off”, the self-described Christian innovator boasts.
The 20 minute interview is embellished by the usual karaoke, except that here, the gospel choir takes over and the result becomes as beautiful as it is thrilling. Check out the full clip of the James Corden and Kanye West Airpool Karaoke interview above.
On the same topic, the rapper-turned-designer-turned-evangelist also spoke to Beats 1’s Zane Lowe about this new release.
