The Swedish brand and Russell Westbrook are back at it with a new denim capsule collection, heavily tinted in 1990s nostalgia, and it has just hit stores.
The pair had already worked together last summer, for the Spring/Summer 2019 line. Acne Studios has indeed decided to call back the newly signed Houston Rockets player to offer him a capsule collection. The man himself has been known and noticed for having a taste for styling and fashion, gracing pre-game arena entrances and candids with lavish outfits. The menswear drop features different types of denim pieces, with a focus on straight cuts on the bottoms, while the top displays a sportswear feel.
The combination of the two worlds looks seamless, much like the energies on both sides of the effort. “I have always been interested in the connection between sportswear and ready-to-wear, the dynamic between them especially. We chose Russell for a collaboration as he is an athlete we admire for many reasons,” states indeed Jonny Johansson, Creative Director of Acne Studios, in the brand’s latest press release. His NBA superstar counterpart returns the favour as he was quoted emphasising on his admiration for the brand: “Acne Studios is already an unbelievable brand that speaks for itself so I’m just happy and blessed to have a collection with them and to be able to show my creative side.”
All of the capsule collection photos are available up-top. More information on Acne Studios’ website and in stores.
