Alexander Wang and Bvlgari designs the new jewellery it-bag

There a few things we love more than a fashion collaboration that marries the hallmarks of a 135-year-old fashion house with a contemporary label so seamlessly. As for Bvlgari’s latest collab, you just know you’re looking at the next ‘it’ capsule collection of the season. Serpenti Through the Eyes of Alexander Wang is the latest collaborative offering from two of the most in-demand fashion houses of the moment.

And just in time for Fashion Week! Alexander Wang reinterprets Bvlgari’s emblematic Serpenti Forever bag, featuring several models in white, black and mint green (an ode to Bvlgari’s green tea fragrance which was Wang’s favourite growing up) and python and lizard — all bearing the iconic vintage Bvlgari snake head from the 1950s, with no other than Hailey Bieber fronting the campaign.

What does the Alexander Wang x Bvlgari collab look like?

The series Serpenti Through the Eyes Of, is an initiative by Bvlgari, which since 2017 has invited a designer to remodel a bag from the Italian house. Alexander Wang is the next in line and he is now unveiling his reinterpretation of the Serpenti Forever bag.

“When Bvlgari approached me to collaborate, I knew I wanted to create something that focused on the everyday overlooked items when purchasing luxury goods and transform it into something desirable for a global consumer of all ages,” says Alexander Wang.

The result is a Serpenti capsule collection of six bags in a range of colours from black to white, pastel green and exotic prints, all adorned with the emblematic vintage snake head, Bvlgari’s famous trademark.

The ultra desirable piece from this collection you ask? The minaudière bag, which pays a vibrant tribute to Bvlgari’s jewellery DNA with its bracelet-shaped attachment that takes up the iconic Tubogas mesh, the company’s emblem.

“Serpenti is an icon that has been and continues to be reimagined: Wang’s fresh vision has brought a new urban chic attitude to our unstoppable icon of glamour,” says Mireia Lopez Montoya, Bvlgari’s accessory unit managing director.


The collection “Serpenti Through the Eyes of Alexander Wang” is available from September 2019.
