Crabtree & Evelyn’s Buff + Smooth Lip Exfoliator

Dry, chapped lips come winter is a common malady. Nothing to write home about. For me, though, it’s spring, summer, autumn and winter; dry, too, doesn’t begin to describe the cutting, cracking, Joker-smile-splitting I unfortunately am predisposed to — especially in my four-ish-five years spent below-zero in gruelling Manhattan winters.Through the years, I’ve built up an arsenal of lip products with aims to soothe, but Crabtree & Evelyn’s Buff + Smooth Lip Exfoliator (HK$155is something special. Remember those little pots of home-made sugar scrub that, whilst effective, gets absolutely everywhere? This lip exfoliator is that, but better. It’s shaped in a classic bullet shape with gritty sugar-like granules embedded into the product itself, making for an easy, one-swipe-and-go experience; no need to smear fingers across lips. Your hand sanitiser thanks you. The lip exfoliator is also pretty hydrating, too. — Joey Wong, Editor

Drunk Elephant’s Lippe Balm

I love lip balm. That’s probably an understatement; please see above. The most unique part of Drunk Elephant’s Lippe Balm (HK$145) is its diameter — it’s hefty. It’s a short and stout product that smears a little past the lip line. For me, that’s a win; again, please see above for reasons why. This little balm stick is also a multi-faceted product, which can be used, too, along the under eyes and by the cuticles for added moisture. Full disclosure: I’ve never used it as anything other than a hydrating lip balm, but I rather enjoy the fact that I can. If I wanted to. — Joey Wong, Editor

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops

The concept behind Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops (HK$265) is simple. So very simple, in fact, it’s embedded within the product’s lengthy name. Its main feat: To emulate that glistening, glossy summertime glow — without the sweat — at any time, in any moment during the year (goodbye dry, flaky skin!). This shimmery bottle is your secret. Its niacinamide formulation will combat hyperpigmentation while working hard to brighten uneven skin tones. It’s a two-drop highlighter that you can swiftly smooth along your cheekbones for post-makeup touch-ups — with sanitised fingers, of course. It’s even a hydration serum, with Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E Moringa Seed Oil, that is light and robust enough to be used as the first step of meticulous skin routines, too. All and everything you need it to be, and more. Easy peasy beauty. Did I mention that it smells deliciously sweet, like watermelons? Lorria Sahmet, Style Editor

FENTY BEAUTY Body Sauce

Summer is now within our grasp, but for the last few months my skin has been feeling dull and a little lifeless. With a very noncommittal fake tanning routine, FENTY BEAUTY’S Body Sauce (HK$428) has been perfect for a quick and subtle hint of bronze; its lightweight coverage is ideal now that the weather is becoming sticky and humid, and it’s skin-enhancing coverage gives a subtle, healthy looking glow. The best part? FENTY’S formula is humidity, sweat, and transfer resistant! — Lexi Davey, Managing Editor

Hourglass Equilibrium Fluid Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF30

Forever on the hunt for a sunscreen that sits smoothly under my makeup and offers enough protection to ward off excessive UV exposure, Hourglass’ latest skincare line –Equilibrium- not only ticks this box, but also restores balance to skincare with its hydrating Cell Balancing Complex. The Equilibrium Fluid Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF30 is a blend of four organic compounds to shield the skin from sun damage, and feels like silk upon application. If you’re tired of claggy, sticky sunscreens that leave a white cast, give this one a go. Lexi Davey, Managing Editor

BYREDO Mixed Emotions Eau De Parfum

Choosing a signature scent is something so personal to each individual, and while I have my go-to’s lined up on my bathroom vanity, what I love about BYREDO’s Eau De Parfum collection is the versatility. Conjuring up fragrance after fragrance that quickly become cult-favourites, its scents appeal to to everyone, and Mixed Emotions (HK$1,370 for 50ml, HK$1,950 for 100ml) is no exception. Uniquely designed to reflect the tumultuous nature of our times, Mixed Emotions draws on BYREDO’s philosophy of translating fragmented memories and abstract ideas into scent. Think: Black Currant, Ceylon Black Tea, Violet Leaves, Birch Wood, and Papyrus. — Lexi Davey, Managing Editor
