Sarah Chapman SKINESIS Overnight Facial (HK$639)

Sarah Chapman Overnight Facial

I love the idea of a doing a weekly face mask on a Sunday, but in reality, I either forget or get impatient waiting for a sheet mask to soak in to my skin long enough. An overnight facial product is ingenious in my books. Applied just before going to bed this award-winning serum-oil formula refreshes, rejuvenates and brightens tired, dull and stressed skin, literally overnight. No more awkward eye and mouth holes here, Sarah Chapman’s collaborations with SKINESIS feels like cashmere on the skin, working its magic while you catch a few zzz’s. – Lexi Davey, Managing Editor

Maison Francis Kurkdijan Aqua Universalis (HK$1,680)

may beauty faves

When it comes to that final finishing touch to any outfit — a routine spritz of perfume — everyone has a scent of their own. Or maybe you’re more like me; a mixed concoction of sweet scents and fresh florals upon a scattered vanity of ornate carafes. Choosing, and frankly, remaining loyal to a singular scent is tricky — it all depends on the mood, the particular ensemble, the event. Which is why, when it comes down to finding a go-to, light, delicate and always guaranteed fresh ‘clean laundry’ can do no wrong.

Maison Francis Kurkdijan’s Aqua Universalis is the latest addition to my collection for ‘clean laundry’ scents. Part of the perfumer’s ‘Cologne forte’ trio — three colognes that replicate three different ‘window-opening’ experiences — the clear-bottled Aqua Universalis is evocative of the purity in fresh, clean air that instantly washes over as the window latch unlocks. A refreshing first inhale after months of being cooped up indoors. Sweet Calabria bergamot lingers over white musky florals, with lemon and sweet pea rounding out the radiant accord. A delightful scent, especially for hot and balmy summer days like today. – Lorria Sahmet, Style Editor

Penhaligon’s Racquets Eau de Parfum (HK$1,700)

Penhaligon's Racquets Eau de Parfum

My vanity operates amid a land of rampant uncertainty; littered with samples and travel-sizes and one-shot sachets — spoils of the war I’ve lost and lost again against the Sephora check-out aisle. Commitment is hard! As you can imagine, it takes a lot for me to consider full-sized anything, but Penhaligon’s Racquets Eau de Parfum is an immediate exception. It’s zingy, with lemony notes tethered to woody leathers that are perfect complements to tennis-white shoes, pressed-and-pleated skirts and Sunday afternoons spent whiling time away at the country club. Or, downing a few limoncellos before serving across the net. Or, really, just an everyday fragrance that’s bright, summery and works across the board — no gendered scents with this serve.  — Joey Wong, Editor

Penhaligons has launched a complimentary local delivery service with a minimum purchase of HKD$1000 when ordering from its stores directly, inclusive of a 1:1 consultation service via WhatsApp!
