Beauty and all of its implications have had a big rethink; especially in the last year, as stay-at-home confines push the industry towards ideas of healing and comfort, rather than one of pure vanity. The time spent indoors has created new boundaries of living. Work, especially, takes place in spaces previously assigned for other activities. The bedroom. The living room. In contrast, then, the bathroom and vanity area become little oases of zen; ones that tell tales of times from before.
Net-a-Porter’s inaugural ‘The Beauty of You’ festival is a virtual content extravaganza, featuring tastemakers, experts and founders of brands from their extensive beauty portfolio. Nothing feels quite like that fresh swipe of lipstick; or, that end-of-day routine as you line up serums and exfoliators and essences like potions in an apothecary. Those endless meetings spent over Zoom should at least be accompanied by a bright lip or a glowing, Glossier-dewy face, right? Beauty and its links to wellness is more interwoven than ever — something ‘The Beauty of You’ festival will address in exclusive digital content across two weeks.

Starting on 11 January with ‘Wellbeing’, the first segment stars Miranda Kerr — the supermodel, supermum and founder of skincare brand KORA Organics — as she shares her bedtime routine and skincare secrets. At-home spa experiences with Charlotte Mensah and Tata Harper, skincare journeys with Dr. Barbara Sturm and Tina Craig and make-up trends with Mali Thomas are also on ‘The Beauty of You’ festival’s rota of events to keep pencilled in your iCal.
Other confirmed participants include Marianna Hewitt of Summer Fridays, Camila Coelho of Elaluz, Sarah Chapman, Katie Brindle of Hayo’u and Dr Rose Ingleton of Rose MD Skin.
