Victoria Beckham has just launched a new crossover product in her eponymous beauty line with famed stem cell scientist Augustinus Bader, the Cell Rejuvenating Power Serum priced at US$210 (approx. HK$1,630).
Victoria Beckham isn’t Posh Spice for nothing. Reported to follow a US$1,038 (approx. HK$8,060) skincare routine prescribed by celebrity facialist Melanie Grant, the singer-turned-fashion-and-beauty mogul is notorious for her expensive tastes that also extend all the way to her skincare cabinet. She’s known to be a huge fan of Dr. Augustinus Bader’s products, namely The Cream and The Rich Cream — what many stars tout to be a revolutionary skin texture gamechanger.
Dr. Augustinus Bader gained his reputation when he developed a hydrogel cream to treat burn victims, effectively eliminating the need for skin grafts. What powers his skin healing products is now known as his proprietary TFC8 technology, for which he owns more than 200 patents.
Victoria Beckham has successfully enlisted the help of Dr. Augustinus Bader once again for this collaborative creation, which follows after her previously launched Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturiser. The new Cell Rejuvenating Power Serum is introduced as a potent, yet gentle serum that addresses past skin damage while uplifting the integrity of the skin barrier function to help defend against future aggressors.
On top of Professor Bader’s TFC8, the serum also contains a texture-refining and skin-strengthening nutrient-rich yeast ferment complex, porcelain flower to rebalance the healthy bacteria on the skin, organic black crowberry fruit to improve microcirculation and firming the skin, niacinamide to calm redness and reduce pore size, as well as triple-weight hyaluronic acid for all-round hydration and to help deliver the other actives.
There’s also vitamin E to protect against free radicals, and olive fruit extract, which helps shield from the effects of digital blue light damage. Sarah Creal, CEO of the company, noted that this serum effectively replaces your vitamin C, your hyaluronic acid and your repair serum, streamlining your skincare routine so you eventually only need fewer products than you can count on one hand — if not just a cleanser, this serum, and a cream.
The serum, packaged in a glass drip bottle (to add elegance as well as to make it recyclable in most countries), is meant to be used before your cream moisturiser. Victoria Beckham rushed to unveil her makeup-free face to her followers on Instagram after the product launched last week, notably loving the improvement on her pore size and the fine lines around her eyes.
It’s certainly good enough for VB, but can you justify the price tag to give it a go?
The Cell Rejuvenating Power Serum is now available online for HK$1,630 / 30 ml bottle at Augustinus Bader.
