Same story, different year: we’re well into December now and there’s barely a chill in the air. As we wait for cool winter weather to arrive in town, here are a few wellness centres offering wintery treatments that will leave you feeling festive and ready to hit the town.

The Smile Bar

The Smile Bar - Interior (2)

You’re going to need a dazzling smile for all the soirees this season, but with all the wine, coffee and chocolate flowing freely in the holiday months, it may be hard to maintain those pearly whites. Teeth whitening experts The Smile Bar will sort you out: Collaborating with eco-friendly beauty salon A Beauty Bar, the teeth whitening clinic is giving out some amazing festive gifts for those who buy a triple whitening package (3 x 20-minute treatments, $1,588) or add on a Nano Seal Total service ($288) which helps you maintain the results for longer.

Ladies can get a gift pack including products from organic makeup brand ILIA, deluxe skincare goodies from Bliss and Esse Organic Skincare, as well as treat themselves to a manicure by A Beauty Bar. Guys can also benefit, with grooming sets from John Masters Organic and an eyebrow trimming service from A Beauty Bar. Plus, there’s a 10% discount until 15 January 2017 for all teeth whitening packages (starting at $688) — just 20 minutes in a chair, and you’ll leave smiling a few shades lighter.

REVIV IV Infusion

We’re no fan of needles, but REVIV’s IV infusion treatments sure do pack a punch in terms of keeping well during the cooler months, with varieties helping to fight against colds and flus on top of hangover relief after a night of partying. And if you’re planning to do a lot of that this season, the Ultraviv ($1,500) is your best bet, restoring hydration and relieving pain and nausea — perfect for recovering from illness and too many late nights!

For all-over wellness, check out the Megaboost ($2,588), which is filled with vitamins and minerals, electrolytes and antioxidants to refresh your system and give a healthy natural glow. The drip lasts about 40 minutes in REVIV’s clean and comfortable flagship shop in Central, but if you’re tight on time, 10-minute vitamin booster shots are also available.

Polaris Wellness

Bemoaning the lack of cold this Christmas? Head to Polaris for your fix of icy blasts with their signature full body cryotherapy treatment, or with a quick 15-minute pick-me-up in the form of the cryofacial. While the full body treatment is touted by star athletes like Hong Kong Olympic swimmer and Stanford graduate Geoffrey Cheah, the cryofacial is perfect for those who want a skin firming treatment with swift results.

Gently beaming a jet of cold air (about -170 degrees Celsius!) over the face, neck and hairline, the treatment instantly firms up your skin, reduces puffiness, and also stimulates your body’s natural collagen production up to 3-5 times its regular rate — naturally filling in wrinkles and lines. A regular single session of the facial will set you back $600, but first-timers can try it for just $350, and if you like it, tailored packages are available for members, priced at around $450/session.

I-Spa, the InterContinental Hong Kong

If you’re looking for something to treat yourself to during the holiday months, the InterCon’s Chocolate Restorative I-Spa Journey ($2,330) is the pampering equivalent to a soothing sip of hot chocolate on a frigid day. Available through 28 February 2017, the luxurious session starts off with a 45-minute coffee scrub and chocolate wrap, which awakens the lymphatic system and also hydrates the skin.

The following 1 hour and 15 minute-Aroma Golden Bits Massage will help you release all the stresses of the year with the use of Ylang Ylang, Frankincense and Patchouli, as well as leaving your skin soft and shimmery for the holiday season. The decadence doesn’t end here: The treatment also wraps up with a three-course ihealth lunch served at the hotel’s Pool Terrace, which overlooks the harbour. Reserve by phone or email:
