A Christmas Getaway at Grand Lapa Macau

Located in the heart of Macau’s old town, the Grand Lapa makes for a charming place to stay to explore the Chinese and European influences on our sister SAR, particularly to celebrate the cosy season of Christmas with family and friends. Whether it’s afternoons spent among the airy verandahs of Cafe Bela Vista and its Christmas Market lunch or Champagne Seafood Dinner Buffet on 24 and 25 December, freshly grilled seafood at Naam Thai, or specialty festive desserts by Austrian patissier Thomas Hammerschmid and hot holiday cocktails at Vasco Bar & Lounge, the five-star city resort will simultaneously offer a relaxing respite and a convenient getaway with all the fixings and frills. Don’t miss its new holiday spa treatment — the Hydrating Rose Body Cocoon — a 90-minute seasonal pampering session helping to soften and smooth skin from head to toe, tailored for the dry winter months.

Brand new treatments at The Ritz-Carlton Spa

Constantly at the top of regional spa accolades, The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Macau has just refreshed its brand concept and offerings with a more personalised approach to its popular treatments, as well as incorporating the latest technologies. Within the indulgent new menu is the Caviar and Pearl Experience, which draws on the pearl powder used by ancient Chinese emperors and empresses to revitalise the skin. The 120-minute treatment incorporates caviar, pearl and jade rollers to tone skin and soothe tiredness. Other new experiences include the Restorative Bamboo Massage, which incorporates warmed herbal poultices that help improve circulation, followed by a gentle, flowing massage with warmed bamboo to undo the knots of the day. Stay for a day of pampering and don’t sleep on the post-treatment refreshments. The new treatments are priced from HK$2,600.

Nourishing Stay at JW Marriott, Macau

While hams, turkeys and robust steaks are typically the norm on festive tables during this time of the year, Cantonese families love to crowd around a steamy, comforting hot pot or casserole during the winter months, with one of these iconic dishes being the hearty bubbling mutton clay pot stew. JW Marriott Macau’s Man Ho Chinese Restaurant provides the perfect opportunity to appreciate this home-style dish together with loved ones — guests can stay for one night under the ‘Nourishing Stay’ offer (available through 31 March), with rates from MOP1,688 inclusive of one mutton clay pot dish from Man Ho Chinese Restaurant and a breakfast buffet at Urban Kitchen.
