Brunch is always better when paired with a side of ocean views: InterContinental’s flagship seaside restaurant provides just that paired with one of the best hotel buffet spreads this side of the harbour. An elegant affair at Aulis

For an elegant Mother’s Day affair, look no further than Simon Rogan’s Aulis, which has captivated the attention of foodies (and earned the LSA stamp of approval) with its intricately composed and artfully plated farm-to-table fare featuring ingredients from Rogan’s own farm in the UK. The spectacular dinner tasting menu is composed of no less than 18 courses: highlights include the pumpkin, nashi pear and bay leaf bites to tease the palate, followed by the luscious sea urchin custard with caviar, 5-flavoured cod paired with Westcombe cheese, and duck with sweetcorn and baby leeks. Dessert is a special treat at Aulis with irresistible bites such as caramelised apple tarte tatin and homemade doughnuts.

Bubbly brunch at Popinjays

The Murray, Hong Kong delights with a full range of delicious treats and activities to enjoy this Mother’s Day. For a stunning view of the cityscape combined with masterful European dishes, head to Popinjays atop the hotel for their bubbly five-course brunch. Chef de Cuisine Didier Quennouelle has designed the menu which kicks off with the restaurant’s signature 65-degree slow-cooked farm egg, followed by a sumptuous roasted king pigeon drizzled in jus. Morton’s surf-and-turf lunch

Beloved steakhouse Morton’s opens this Sunday for a special 3-course Mother’s Day celebration catering to all steak and seafood lovers. Although meats reign supreme here, Morton’s seafood offerings shouldn’t be overlooked; luckily, the Mother’s day lunch brings together the best of both surf and turf. Start the celebrations with an array of appetisers, including the seasonal strawberry, arugula and goat cheese salad, a cup of creamy lobster bisque, and the renowned shrimp cocktail and jump lump crab cakes. After slurping down some fresh oysters, guests can dig into a tender 6oz center-cut filet mignon, a 10oz prime New York medallion (plus HK$98) or a 16oz prime ribeye (plus HK$98). Other options include king salmon and short rib bolognese, while dessert rounds out with hot chocolate cake or the legendary sundae for two. Chase it all down with the Mother’s Day limited edition cocktail: The Violet Blush (HK$150) with raspberry liqueur, pomegranate syrup, lemon juice, egg white and flower garnish.

Chinese fine dining at Moon Lok Restaurant

If Chinese flavours are more up mum’s alley, newly opened Moon Lok has just the menu to satisfy, with classic Cantonese-style dishes prepared by celebrated chef Hui Mei Tak. Located in Xiqu Centre, the new Chinese opera hub in West Kowloon Cultural District, Moon Lok celebrates elegant Chinese fine dining in a theatrical space, with new celebratory set menus available for the duration of Mother’s Day weekend. Be the first in to sample delicacies such as stewed Oma abalone in oyster sauce and baked crab meat stuffed in crab shell, deep-fried Bombay duck fish with spiced salt, and bean curd rolls stuffed with shredded radish. Celebratory dinners include auspicious dishes such as ‘Longevity Noodles’ with conpoy; while dim sum treats are also available during the Mother’s Day brunch offering.

For something out of the ordinary, Hotel Icon is opening the doors to their grand Silverbox Ballroom for a special brunch extravaganza happening this Sunday. Set in the dazzling ballroom replete with celebratory decorations, mums (and families) can enjoy a mouthwatering brunch buffet spread with highlights including Alaskan king crab leg, crayfish and fresh blue mussels, sashimi, French duck liver terrine, and Chinese-style braised giant garoupa.
