Harnessing the power of food as a means of healing and communion, Spanish chefs around Hong Kong have united to host a special charity dinner in light of the recent terror attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils, with 100% of proceeds going to support the victims of the attack.
Taking place at La Paloma on 29 August at 6pm, “A Dinner for Barcelona” will bring together 12 chefs from Spanish restaurants in Hong Kong and the Philippines to cook in partnership with the Spanish Chefs Association, aiming to raise funds for the horrific attacks that occurred last week in Barcelona. Through the event, chefs hope to spotlight Spanish culture and cuisine, using the event to mark a strong and united front as the world continues to face increasing acts of violence and terrorism.
Tickets are now on sale and priced at HK$400 per person for food (plus HK$200 for free-flow drinks), with all of the profits going towards victims of the attack. The meal will encompass a family-styl, 8-course tapas menu plus two desserts, with the option of free-flowing wine, beer, sangria, Spanish cava and soft drinks. Dishes include Catalan codfish fritters, tomato salad with anchovies and fresh cheese, “Callos” pork stew with potatoes and chorizo, and Catalan-style meatballs with cuttlefish.

When I heard that my home country had been brutally attacked, I was immensely worried about my family, friends and the people living in those areas. Through this charity dinner, I hope that we will be able to do our part to support and bring some relief to the victims and their families,” said Head Chef & Partner at FoFo by el Willy, Alex Fargas.
