Foodies, mark your calendars now: One of the world’s best restaurants, Sühring, is set to pop up at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong this September for an exclusive 3-day residency from 12–14 September. German natives and renowned chef-brother duo Mathias and Thomas Sühring will present some of the signature dishes from their eponymous Bangkok restaurant at The Krug Room — one of the city’s most exclusive dining rooms — from 12–13 September, followed by a special menu at the Mandarin Grill + Bar on 14 September. Both lunch and dinner menus will be served on all three days.

Twin chefs Mathias and Thomas Sühring will land at Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong for an exclusive 3-day residency.

While Hong Kong has always been a hub for attracting some of the best culinary talent across the region for guest chef stints, this particular pop-up is sure to be one of the most buzzed-about events of the year: Since opening in March 2016, Sühring has picked up a multitude of accolades, from its 2-star win in the most recent Michelin Guide Bangkok 2019, to placing No. 4 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2019, and debuting this year at No. 45 on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2019.

Located in a restored townhouse in Bangkok, the restaurant stands out as the first German fine-dining restaurant in the Thai capital, serving inventive dishes inspired by the twin brothers’ childhood growing up in Europe. Rooted in traditional recipes, signature dishes such as German-style egg noodles called Spätzle, smoked eel mousse and Simmental beef tartare spin off with creative twists, offering an eye-opening degustation rooted in Central European fare. Stay tuned as we bring you more details on this anticipated pop-up.
