Part of the annual Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition, this year’s ‘Test Your Palate’ tasting event is like a dream come true for wine lovers. For three consecutive evenings (4–6 October, 6–8:30pm), this one-of-a-kind series will cater to oenophiles by featuring tastes of more than 300 wines each night — over 1,000 different wines in total. Even if you only attend one night, you’ll still be able to enjoy hundreds of high-quality wines from more than 30 countries across the globe, all in the company of some of Asia’s very best wine experts and judges.
This three-day challenge is hosted by Master of Wine Debra Meiburg and the judges of the HKIWSC, and will take place at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Guests will have the opportunity to test and compare wines by country, grape variety, style, brand, or in any other way base on your personal preference. Blind-tasting sections will also take place, where you can learn how to identify your personal wine faults, taste new or unreleased wine, and win great prizes too — all to ensure a fun, action-packed experience.
More than just a chance to sample some choice sips, Test Your Palate is an ideal opportunity to advance your wine knowledge with the guidance of highly qualified experts, making it suitable for both wine novices and serious connoisseurs. In addition, it’s also an opportunity to taste an incredibly diverse array of wines: white Shiraz from Thailand, Sauvignon Blanc from Bali, and so. You’ll also be exposed to countries whose wines you may not be familiar with, such as Georgia, Slovenia and India. Simply put, this will be a great way to test, challenge and expand your wine palate.
Tickets are available in 1-Day Pass (HK$250) and 3-Day Pass (HK$700), and you can get them over the phone at +852 3128 8288, or here.
