The name Bugatti has always been synonymous with high-performance luxury vehicles. A head-turner from the first glance, Bugatti captures a crowd’s attention through its aesthetics, leaving many in awe of its power and performance. From the Bugatti Veyron to the Chiron, Bugatti can do no wrong and has proven it time and time again, especially with its latest luxury sports car, the Bugatti Divo.
The Bugatti Divo is named after acclaimed French racing driver, Albert Divo who raced for Bugatti in the 1920s and winning the Targa Florio race twice. Dubbed as the most agile and dynamic car ever created, the Bugatti Divo takes elements from its predecessor, the Bugatti Chiron. Following Bugatti’s philosophy of ‘form follows performance’, the Bugatti Divo is tuned for agility and optimum handling when it comes to winding roads.
What makes the Bugatti Divo so special is that there are only 40 units available worldwide. For avid car luxury car collectors, this will make you squeal. Unfortunately, all 40 have already been sold at five million euros to existing Bugatti Chiron owners before it made its public debut.
Considered to be an accelerated version of the Bugatti Chiron, the Bugatti Divo weighs in at 35kg lighter than its predecessor. Under its hood, it shares the same engine with the Bugatti Chiron with its 8.0-litre W16 quad-turbocharged with a total output of 1,479hp. It also has a top speed of 380kph while hitting zero to a century in just 2.4 seconds.
In terms of its design, the Bugatti Divo comes with a new and redesigned front clip. This allows the car to cut down on drag while keeping it cool. The roof of the car is also reworked to function much like a NACA duct, a common form of low-drag air inlet design. The active rear wing on the Bugatti Divo is also considered to be much larger than its predecessor while its rear taillights also get a revamp. This allows the Bugatti Divo to stand out from the crowd while not mistaking it for the Bugatti Chiron.
With production expected to finish in 2019, it’ll only be a matter of time before we see the Bugatti Divo on the track and tearing it up, along with some records.
