Mother’s Day is just around the corner and you know the drill: you’re going to have to buy your mum some flowers. It’s best not to wait until the last minute to do so, however, as Hong Kong’s top florists find their service in high demand at this time of year. Save yourself the stress (and make sure she gets flowers she’ll love) by getting your order sorted sooner than later. For the best Mother’s Day florists in town, look to these six top flower shops.
Ellermann has been purveying exquisite, bespokeblooms and curating luxury event designs in Hong Kong since 2011. Its floral talents are particularly favoured for high-profile weddings. Aside from selling arrangements at its Landmark or Pacific Place boutique, it also offers regular flower workshops at its atelier in Wong Chuk Hang. For Mother’s Day, you can choose from three special designs (from HK$1,880), featuring blooms that bring peace and calm whilst symbolising thoughtfulness and unconditional love. Want to treat mum to even more? Why not pick a glasshouse arrangement, so your flowers can remain a centrepiece at home for even longer?

Opened in 1994, Flannel Flowers was one of Hong Kong’s first luxury bespoke florists. With creations typically named after master artists such as Rothko and O’Keefe, you can expect bouquets and arrangements that are made to resemble living art. You can order tailor-made arrangements according to your preferences, but we’d recommend splurging on the seasonal bouquets that feature unconventional blooms — no run-of-the-mill rose bouquets here.

Floristry by M&L
This Sheung Wan florist shop oozes rustic appeal and bewitchment, which easily sets it apart from the other flashy florists in town. A visit might feel more like strolling into Ollivander’s rather than picking up a bouquet, which makes it all the more delightful. For Mother’s Day, M&L has harked back to Native American folklore where May’s full moon is known as the ‘Mother’s Moon’ — reflecting on the time of year when the land is most fertile and spring is in full bloom. For the occasion, they’ve selected a mix of pale pinks, clean whites and deep purples: equally captivating, mysterious, pure and feminine. Wild-style bouquets, small vases or retro medicinal jar arrangements are available.

Floristry by Art of Living
To Floristry by Art of Living, flowers are vessels for healing — changing the energy in a room and helping us find beauty in every stage of life. For Mother’s Day, the boutique is offering two special bouquets (from HK$890) named after inspirational women-led films: Lady Bird sets off deep luscious pinks with softer blush and white tones. Mamma Mia features lilac, white and magenta hues, and is available in three jar sizes as well as a traditional bouquet variation. For Mother’s Day 2019, Floristry by Art of Living is hosting a floral jamming workshop at its pop-up at Sensory Zero, where you and mum both can learn how to make a mini flower arrangement (HK$380 includes class and tea set, from 10–13 May.)
