First unveiled at Milan Design Week earlier this spring, the French fashion house Hermès had us dazzled with its 2017-2018 home collections — featuring whimsical new furnishings and homeware all adorned with its iconic equestrian leather touches. The iconic brand is opening its massive 10,000-sq.-ft. flagship at Prince’s Building by early 2018, and we foresee many shopping sprees in the future; in the meantime, here are our picks for what to keep an eye out for (official collection release dates TBC).

Designed in collaboration with Guillaume Delvigne and Damian O’Sullivan, the 10-piece Lien d’Hermès collection harks back to the roots of the brand by using leather equestrian harnesses. These transparent vases, wrapped up in leather straps, are a playful take on revealing the delicacy and purity of the object as well as shaping its outline. Made of Saint-Louis crystal and brick bridle leather, the vases come in two different sizes.
It’s hard to not want the whole set of tableware from the newest Tie Set, featuring prints by Hermès tie designer Philippe Mouquet. Three fun new colourways in Grenat (blue/red), Menthe (green/blue) or Mandarine (orange/blue) are made to be mixed and matched for a whimsical collection at home. Aside from this set of dinner, bread and dessert plates, you can also shop from a full set of teapot and matching cups, tumblers and coffee mugs.
Also part of the collection is this coat hanger, featuring the house’s signature brick bridle leather with palladium-finish brass. The caramel-coloured straps paired with shiny cold metal makes for a super enigmatic piece for your wardrobe — or even just as décor for your home.
Aside from being a leather powerhouse, Hermès also prizes its lacquer work very highly, as many will know. Horses and abstract figures burst out from dizzying illusive patterns on these vibrant wood lacquer boxes designed by Gianpaolo Pagni, which make for chic and surprising containers for just about anything.
This solemn monolith of a coffee table was designed by British industrial design studio Barber & Osgerby, and upon first glance looks as if it’s finished in fine leather: it’s actually cast in bronze in a single-use mould. The seamlessness and smoothness of its craft are sure to be a conversation starter for anyone who visits your home.
Wow your dinner guests with this elegant serving trolley (aka chicness on wheels). Mimicking the classic French travelling coach (known as a Diligence coach) in style, the trolley is made from natural maple, fawn H bull calfskin natural woven wicker and brass. The deep wicker baskets, bottom rack and brass trays can hold dishes, cutlery and more; or park it by your favourite lounging spot and use it as a mini cocktail trolley to transport drinks and barware.
This wine rack ensures your chosen trifecta are strapped in stylish wicker and brick bridle leather — like having a sophisticated picnic at the dinner table.
The concept behind the Équipage d’Hermès collection is to pair functional and sophisticated objects with hidden features like secret compartments and configurations. This mini oak writing desk can be adapted to your wishes: push it together if you ever want to give your room a more spacious feel, or spread it out when using for a more comfortable office setup. A bull calfskin statement section provides an extra bit of storage space.
Perfect to tuck away treats, stationery, knick-knacks, travel documents, secret stashes and what have you — Hermès’s leather harness details make for a strapping way to reorganise the small things in your life. The largest box measures just under an A4 sheet of paper at 25 x 20 x 6cm.
