Bulgari Residences Shanghai set to open in fall 2017

If you’re in the market for a Shanghai home, Bulgari Hotels and Resorts have announced the launch of the Bulgari Residences Shanghai, located inside a magnificent 40-storey building that will also house the Bulgari Hotel. Scheduled to open in fall 2017, the complex will be designed by the Italian luxury architectural firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel Interiors to convey Bulgari’s core aesthetic values: contemporary design, magnificent craftsmanship and artistic detail. Furnished with only the most prestigious materials and unique facilities, the building is set to define luxury living and reflect Bulgari’s iconic style in every detail.

The stunning residences and hotel is being built inside prestigious Suhe Creek, an urban redevelopment project overseen by world-class architectural design team Foster+Partners. Located on the riverbank, Suhe Creek is aimed to preserve the city’s cultural heritage while breathing new life into the historic Jing’an District.

Overlooking the Bund, Huangpu River and Pudong skyline, the residences will compromise 243 apartments spread over 27 floors, ranging from one to three bedrooms and from a size of 146–256 square metres. On the 32nd floor, the magnificent penthouse will span 600 square metres. All residents of the building will be spoilt with privileged access to all facilities in the Bulgari Hotel, which will be located on the upper eight floors of the 40-storey complex. This includes a fitness centre, spa, barbers and hairdressers, vast dining options, valet parking, concierge service, housekeeping, security and landscaping. Apartments will also be available to buy fully furnished, of course designed under the elite craftsmanship of Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel Interiors.

The Bulgari Residences Shanghai lobby, is decorated with materials iconic to Bulgari projects. These include the Navona travertine, black granite, walls in marmorino and a custom-made Bulgari star-shaped chandelier. The brands signature eight-point star is further reflected on the floor, echoing the Via dei Condotti store in Rome.

To the side of the grand entrance lobby is the library lounge, dominated by large bookshelves and leather armchairs and sofas, for a more relaxed and social ambiance. The materials mimic the decor of the apartments with carpeted floors and coffered ceilings.

The communal areas of the building such as public elevators, are decorated in a typical Bulgari style including travertine marble, black granite and bronze details.

The hall from the lifts to the individual apartments are treated as private vestibules, subdivided into semi-private areas for accessing the apartments.

Every apartment’s interior decor comes in three different colour schemes: Dark, Grey and Light, each with a different choice of material for the walls and floors. The ‘Light scheme’ is designed for the smaller units, typically one bedroom apartments.  This is a light scheme living room, beautifully furnished with light oak floors and brushed white oak boiseries.

The bathroom follows the same design for Light and Dark schemes and is created with black granite flooring with travertine marble and black granite inserts on the walls.

The ‘Grey Scheme’, is complimented with beautiful grey oak flooring.

The ‘Grey Scheme’ bathroom is made with carrara marble instead of travertine marble, to compliment the colours in rest of the apartment.

The ‘Dark scheme’ is embellished with thermo-treated oak, black lacquered boiseries, silk wall coverings and bronze detailing on the ceilings.

The ‘Dark scheme’ apartment is once again designed for more people. The kitchen, wardrobes and walk-in closet of the residences have been custom designed by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel Interiors.
