From buffalo checks to bolo ties, tricked-up denim, swingy fringe and pop graphics with Western references — designers such as Louis Vuitton, Alberta Ferretti, Isabel Marant, Chloé, Dsquared2 and Coach are taking us on a ride to the Wild West by rolling out a whole season of rodeo-ready looks on the Fall/Winter 2018 runways.
As with most catwalk styles, these runway looks can seem far too over-the-top to incorporate into your everyday wardrobe, but bear in mind that they’re not meant to be replicated from head-to-toe. Instead, these looks are there to inspire, and act as a starting point for your own modern day interpretations.
For this particular trend (which is going to stick around for awhile judging from what we saw at Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Resort 2019 show for Dior), the key is to keep it simple, and choose only a limited number of Western-style pieces, which you can then weave into your daily wardrobe for a contemporary spin. Ready to channel your inner cowgirl come fall? We’ve rounded up a list of our favourite Western-inspired items for you to take on below.

This denim shirt by Dsquared2 channels the characteristics of those everyday work shirts, featuring a classic collar adorned with embroidered floral design, press stud fastening and cuffs.
