13 of the hottest new bags to add to your Spring/Summer 2019 wish list

Spring/Summer 2019 does not only represent the start of a new seasonal cycle, it also marks a brand new page for many of the fashion houses, with big names including Celine and Burberry welcoming the first collections by their new creative heads. Whether or not you’re a fan of all these new changes, it’s fair to say that these recent beginnings have injected a breath of fresh air and new energy to the fashion world that we have become, perhaps, too familiar with. To keep up with this surge of new creativity within the industry, many brands have also rolled out new bag designs to compete for the title of the latest ‘it’ bag. Why the bags, you ask? Well, because we all know nothing can give a distinct presence and character to any outfit as effectively as a statement handbag. To help put together your new seasonal wish list, we’ve rounded up a list of the newest bag designs from the Spring/Summer 2019 runways, so scroll down and take your pick.

1. Gucci 'Zumi' small top handle bag

Named after actress and experimental musician Zumi Rosow, the new Zumi bag made its first appearance on Gucci’s Spring/Summer 2019 runway over the shoulder of its muse. This top handle bag in grainy leather is highlighted by an Interlocking G Horsebit — a combination of two of the house’s most historical motifs — presented in silver and gold tones, topped with a hinged lock on each side for a secure closure. It also comes with a detachable strap, so you can wear it over your shoulder for extra versatility.
