37th Hong Kong Film Awards: The stars who looked their absolute best on the red carpet

The 37th Hong Kong Film Awards presentation ceremony took place at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre on Sunday night, with Louis Koo, Teresa Mo, Philip Keung and Deanie Ip nabbing top acting prizes, while Best Film, the biggest award of the night, went to Ann Hui’s wartime drama Our Time Will Come.

In addition to congratulating the winners, we also had one eye keen on the red carpet — scouting out those who were looking their absolute best in celebration of the biggest night in the Hong Kong film industry. This year, the female stars all chose to keep their looks light and dreamy, with floor-length floral dresses being top choices, while others donned skirts and gowns with cascading ruffles. Scroll down to see some of our favourite looks of the night.

Stephy Tang

Stephy Tang, who was nominated for Best Actress for her performance in The Empty Hands, looked elegant in a sequinned floral gown with plunging neckline from Valentino‘s SS18 runway collection. She also wore the ‘Liza’ pink peep toe pumps by Giuseppe Zanotti, and topped it off with accessories from Bulgari’s Divas’ Dream jewellery and watch collection, featuring vibrantly coloured stones for a refreshing and uplifting summer vibe.

Zhao Wei

Zhao Wei, who was an award presenter at this year’s Hong Kong Film Awards, looked sophisticated and poised in a one-shouldered red gown from Valentino’s SS18 collection. She topped off her look with metallic accessories, including Giuseppe Zanotti’s Betty mirrored silver leather clog, Jimmy Choo’s Lockett Minaudiere metal cage bag, as well as shimmering diamond jewellery from Tiffany & Co.

Hanna Chan

New generation actress Hanna Chan appeared on the red carpet dressed beautifully in a gown from Dior‘s SS18 haute couture collection, along with colourful and exquisite jewels also from Dior.

Kearen Pang

Kearan Pang — nominee for Best Director, Best Screenplay and winner of the Best New Director award for the movie 29+1 — arrived on the red carpet wearing a flowing floral dress by Blumarine and a pair of Barbra silver patent leather clogs by Giuseppe Zanotti. She highlighted the look with a delightful pop of green from Bulgari’s Le Magnifiche emerald earrings.

Fish Liu

Fish Liu, who attended as an award presenter at this year’s ceremony, chose to go a different route by donning a suit instead of a gown. She looked very handsome indeed dressed in a custom made suit from Hiatus Fashion, accessorised with watches and jewels from Tiffany & Co.
