Following the appointment of Riccardo Tisci as new chief creative officer, and the surprise unveiling of a new logo and monogram ahead of his debut show, Burberry has taken another step ahead in revamping its business with an announcement of a new store opening in Hong Kong.
Located inside Alexandra House — right in the heart of Central’s luxury shopping district — the brand new store was designed by Burberry’s in-house architecture team, and it features an aesthetic reminiscent of a modern-day London townhouse. With a combination of different marbles in warm tones, bronze details, dark oak and rich woollen carpets, the design team used materials that reference those found in traditional British architecture to evoke the rich heritage of Burberry’s 150-plus years of history, all while mixing in modern designs for a contemporary feeling.
In addition to Burberry’s newest styles, the Alexandra House store also stocks the brand’s latest Belt Bag and D-ring Bag, both featuring elements inspired by the silhouette, attitude and hardware of the iconic trench coat. But that’s not all: In celebration of the opening of this brand new store, Burberry has also created a series of exclusive mini D-ring bags embellished with dazzling Swarovski crystal details. Available in colour ways of regency blue, deep claret and black, these special edition bags can only be found the house’s Alexandra House boutique, so hurry up while stocks last.
