Here’s how you can work the SS18 menswear trends into your daily attire

Over the past month, we saw a number of forthcoming fashion trends unveiled during Men’s Fashion Week for the Spring/Summer 2018 season. If you’re wondering how to get a jumpstart on fitting these trends into your everyday wardrobe, there’s no better place to look for inspiration than the captured street styles outside of fashion show venues, where stylists, buyers and journalists of the industry notoriously bring out their A-game to work the hottest new trends. Scroll down to see some of the standout style examples from the streets of Men’s Fashion Week.

The jumpsuit: Layer with plain tee

We know jumpsuits are inspired by utility wear, but we bet you don’t actually want to look you’re a construction worker! Make sure you choose a design that comes with a belt to define your waistline, and layer a plain crew-neck t-shirt underneath, before finishing off with a pair of white sneakers and shades for a contemporary, high-fashion spin.

Get the look: Stella McCartney mushroom cotton twill jumpsuit (HK$5,480) / Maison Margiela slim-fit t-shirt (HK$1,607) / RetroSuperFuture ray square-frame sunglasses (HK$1,446) / John Hardy chain triple warp bracelet with carnelian (HK$4,568) / Givenchy Urban Street low-top leather trainers (HK$3,990)

Vertical stripes: Add granddad optics

Stripes are like neutrals, so feel free to go wild and experiment with different colours and designs. We highly recommend that you pair your laidback/casual attire with a pair of optical eyewear (or just get a pair with only the frame and no lens) with a retro-inspired frame. Not only is it trending at the moment, it will also add a bit of a classy, bad-boy vibe to your look.

Get the look: Snow Peak striped shirt (HK$2,235) / Etro stripe-print cotton-blend trousers (HK$1,984) / Rayban general optics (HK$1,250) / Givenchy stars and stripes print pouch (HK$4,807) / Suicoke ‘SK Depa’ sandals (HK$1,662)

Red: Go tonal

Red is officially the new black, and street stylers are embracing the colour by wearing it literally from head to toe. If it is too over the top for you, try going tonal and pair different shades of red together for the same appeal.

Get the look: Balenciaga classic baseball cap with logo (HK$2,499) / Cmmn Swdn semi short sleeved jumper (HK$1,952) / Hecho drawstring-waist linen short (HK$1,150) / Moncler Basile rubber slides (HK$2,366)
