Louis Vuitton‘s Fall/Winter 2018 menswear collection is set to debut at Men’s Fashion Week in Paris tonight, and while we are all excitedly waiting to be wowed once again by Kim Jones‘ artistic vision, the Parisian fashion house has surprised us with a sudden announcement: After seven years as the creative helm of Louis Vuitton, Kim Jones will be stepping down from his current role as Men’s Artistic Director. Yes, the show you’re about to see in less than 12 hours’ time will be the designer’s final goodbye.
“It has been a huge privilege to work with Kim,” Michael Burke, chairman and chief executive of Louis Vuitton, said in a statement. “His ability to set trends is impeccable and his talent and determination have ensured that Louis Vuitton is firmly placed as the leading brand in luxury Menswear today. All of us who have been fortunate to work with Kim wish him continued success in his next venture.”
From his unique partnerships with artists including Jake and Dinos Chapman, to the sell-out collaborative collection with cult New York streetwear brand Supreme, there’s no question that Jones has been a driving force behind some of the Maison’s most successful projects. There’s no word about a replacement just yet, but right now, all eyes are on Jones’ grand finale. We’re bringing you the live stream of the show right here, so tune in tonight at 9:30pm HKT, and watch it with us below.
