Ever since taking over as Creative Director of Louis Vuitton in 2013, Nicolas Ghesquière has displayed a rather keen interest in the strange and the unknown as seen in science fiction, with creative references of his collections ranging from the digital world of Minecraft to Wong Kar Wai’s movie 2046, anime series such as Sailor Moon and Evangelion and, of course, Netflix’s Stranger Things, amongst others. Therefore, it’s no wonder he’s been widely referred to as fashion’s ultimate sci-fi fan.

For the yet-to-be-revealed Spring/Summer 2019 women’s ready-to-wear collection, Ghesquière will once again take us on a trip to the future, as hinted by two teaser videos that have been posted on Louis Vuitton’s Instagram account, accompanied by the captions “A vision of the future” and “Imagining another tomorrow”. We can’t wait to see what the collection actually looks like!
