During a time when jet-setting to a neighbouring island for a week of bliss has become rare novelty, we can only close our eyes to imagine. A long stretch of pristine white sand. The sounds of crashing waves. Salt-laced air. Warm, balmy climes. Ah…
Like a balm to our land-bound weary soul (or even a successful attempt to remind us of what we’re missing), Louis Vuitton releases a capsule collection for Summer 2021, perfectly placed for sunshine weathers and carefree atmospheres. The one destination that we’ll be sprinting straight towards when it opens: Beachside. Or perhaps, to remain cautious and stray a little closer to home, poolside.
A trip to the perfect vacation this By The Pool collection truly is. Discarding all hints of the House’s iconic shade of deep brown, in place are sorbet shades of pinks, yellows, and oranges in soft sunset gradients upon the oversized monograms. From the sweet pastels, a flip to the rich jewelled tones of deep navy, mauves and reds, for when the sky splits at dusk to make way for the inky midnight sky. There are parasol-striped sets, breezy kimonos and light, casual separates that catch the slightest of breeze. A ode to an endless summer. Or a hopeful wish for the coming summer months to be spent outdoors in general.
