Whether you’re a professional packer or the type of traveller who throws everything in a bag at the last possible minute, we’ve got some good news for you. Luxury e-tailers Net-A-Porter and Mr Porter have launched a partnership with Cathay Pacific, one of the world’s best airlines, to create an exclusive inflight shopping experience. With both parties known for their exceptional service, this is a match made in heaven.
Allowing passengers to shop from the comfort of their seat, the collaboration will certainly come in handy when you’ve not packed an essential item or you haven’t had enough time to shop on the ground recently. Available only on Cathay’s A350 aircraft, which entered into service on 1 June, the e-commerce platform will utilise the plane’s new Wi-Fi service, so you can shop ’til you drop while hardly having to lift a finger.
Aside from being able to buy anything you might need for your trip, your purchases will be delivered straight to your hotel so it’s there for you when you arrive. Though the e-commerce sites don’t offer same-day delivery to all destinations, if you’re flying to London or Manhattan, both Net-A-Porter and Mr Porter will have you covered. For any purchases on your way to Hong Kong, Net-A-Porter will be able to deliver your latest must-haves on the same day as well.
Travel in true jet setter style and enjoy complimentary access to both shopping platforms for the next few months while onboard the A350 aircraft. Both platforms offer over 1,000 of the very best fashion brands and at least 36,000 products with a focus on sportswear, jewellery, watches, beauty and grooming essentials. The shopping experience is fully equipped with luxury packaging, customer care and personal shopping teams that are there to help you with any of your fashion emergencies throughout the day (or night). If you need any advice on what items to invest in, both The Edit and The Journal (the sites’ magazines with a focus on men’s and women’s style) will be available inflight, so you’ll have access to all the latest trends and happenings in fashion.
Regarding the partnership, Sarah Rutson, vice president of global buying for Net-A-Porter said, “Net-A-Porter and Mr Porter’s partnership with Cathay Pacific is the meeting of two global, luxury brands known for innovation and service. Our customers are international, always on the move and time poor and so they value convenience above all. We built our business on going the extra mile for our customers, and this project is an extension of our mission; with inflight connectivity we are enabling them to shop the very best edit of the world’s top brands whilst traveling the globe.” Here’s to yet another reason to fly on Cathay Pacific’s planes, where travel and luxury meet.
