After hosting its Spring/Summer 2020 men’s fashion presentation in Shanghai this June, Prada has just announced plans to host its Resort 2021 runway show at a brand new location in Asia: Japan. The event is set to be held on 21 May 2020, but the exact location is yet to be revealed.

Prada staged its Resort shows for the past two years in New York.

The brand has staged its past two Resort collections for 2019 and 2020 in New York City; and this upcoming show will mark Prada’s first ever show hosted in Japan.

It’s become a tradition for brands to host their Resort shows in unique places around the world, while taking inspiration from the local culture and traditions when designing the set and collection. Dior, for example, held its fashion show for the Resort 2020 season in Marrakesh, while Max Mara did theirs at a large German market in Berlin.

Prada’s fashion show in Japan will follow the one by Chanel in Capri on 7 May, while Max Mara’s Resort collection will take place in St. Petersburg on 25 May. The full schedule (and locations) for the Resort 2021 shows is to be confirmed, so stay tuned here for further updates.
