For the first time, Rimowa is looking beyond luggage to offer yet another travel staple: Really cool sunglasses.
Having teamed up with the likes of Dior, Off-White and Supreme, Rimowa is certainly no stranger to fashion. But now it can officially consider itself a part of it, thanks to launch of Rimowa Eyewear. The German brand has just unveiled two unisex lines of sunglasses, namely Rimowa Bridge (HK$2,600; HK$2,980 for polarised versions) and Rimowa Rim (HK$2,410). Just like the brand’s signature suitcases, these new shades come in uber-stylish designs — think aviators, square and pantos silhouettes — that have been fashioned for the modern traveller.

For example, the Rimowa Eyewear Rim Pilot, as seen above, is a fresh take on the classic aviators. Drawing from early aviation gear, it features bold lenses and clean lines courtesy of a skinny metal frame.
Such features ensure that it’s conveniently lightweight, like the rest of the collection. The same contemporary look applies to the Rimowa Bridge line, which is marked by a slightly thicker — but not heavier — frame.

All Rimowa Eyewear designs come in both traditional or coloured reflective lenses, in striking shades such as red, yellow and navy. The best part is that these colours match the ones offered for Rimowa’s suitcases, so you can show up to the airport looking very well put together. Each pair also comes with a protective pouch to make your journeys that bit easier.

The collection couldn’t have come at a better time, now that several countries around the world are opening up their borders to tourists again. And if you need a little inspiration, check out our curated picks of travel destinations around the region at the new LSA Curates.
Rimowa Eyewear will be available from 9 July at select Rimowa stores worldwide, including Hong Kong’s Landmark store and online.
