Handbags are not only a daily essential, but also an important part of a woman’s identity. In an effort to present an authentic expression of luxury, Chitose Abe, designer and founder of Japanese label Sacai, recently sought help from British accessories designer and bag specialist Katie Hillier to create her first-ever bag collection.
Comprising six styles in multiple colours, the collection features Sacai’s signature ‘hybrid’ aesthetic, where different materials – from canvas to finely crafted leathers to exotic skins – have been cut and spliced using couture-like craftsmanship and juxtaposed to create a modern and playful version of luxury bags.
We especially adore the duffel bag which features classic coin purses on both ends, so you can gain easy access to your coins anytime anywhere. Another favourite of ours is a traditional horseshoe coin purse, which is supersized and repurposed as a cross-body bag, and embellished with a modular three-piece strap that includes a tubular handle, chain and shoulder strap for maximum versatility.
The entire bag collection is now available in Sacai stores worldwide.
