1. Belted coat
“This grey outfit is from Dior, and I love how all pieces are black and white but of different prints, which gives a very interesting visual effect. This long coat is certainly my favourite. The classic hounds tooth print is very elegant, and the utility buckle of the belt gives a delightful contrast. I do frequently add belts to long coats or blazers as a way to highlight the silhouette and waistline – something I’m seeing more and more in menswear these days.”

2. Boots
“I think black boots are definitely an evergreen investment. It’s so versatile you can wear it with anything including heavier pieces. These ones are made from mixed materials and therefore very comfortable. There’s also a zip on the sides for you to conveniently slip in your feet, without having to tie and untie the laces every single time. Last but not least, there are actually hidden heels in these boots, which will elongate your silhouette and make you look taller than you are.”

3. Choker necklace
“The length of a choker is perfect to use as a subtle highlight to any look, especially with basic, minimalistic pieces such as a t-shirt or a shirt. This one is from a new brand called Martyre, which is founded by Anwar Hadid – the brother of Gigi and Bella Hadid. I’ve been following him on Instagram for a long time, and have always admired his style that is both youthful and edgy. I fell in love with this choker as soon as I saw it, as I find it very artistic and also rather impetuous. It features a pair of magnetic angel’s hands, which works as both a pendant and also a clasp for convenient wear.”

4. Camel sweater
“I am a big fan of Daniel Lee’s work for Bottega Veneta. He managed to take a very classic intreccio design and spin it into something that is very fashionable and ‘of the moment’. This sweater is a standout example of how he, with a single touch, effectively transformed a basic item into something that can really represent the brand. Camel is also a great choice of colour for the Fall/Winter 2019 season; you can wear it with black, like this, or even dressed head-to-toe for a standout look.”

5. Leather bag
“I was obsessed with this bag as soon as I laid eyes on it. This is actually a very basic silhouette, but with the newly interpreted intreccio design, it instantly looks refreshing and different. Its understated style and size also make it perfect for everyday use, and you can choose to wear it either across your body or clutch it with your hand like so.”

6. Statement sunglasses
“These sunglasses from Salvatore Ferragamo are very special as the frame is entirely covered with leather. While the colour echoes with the camel sweater, the silhouette is rather bold, which gives a nice statement touch to the minimalistic look without overpowering it.”

7. Black sneakers
“I love sneakers with high platforms as they elongate my proportions and make me appear taller. For a sleek and minimalistic outfit like this — especially with the wide-legged pants — we need chunkier footwear for added volume, and these black ones from Bottega Veneta are not only versatile, but also come with additional lace details for an extra touch of playfulness.”

8. Pinstriped suit
“I think a pinstripe suit is essential for all men. This one by Loewe is in a navy blue colour, which is ideal for any smart casual occasion. The interesting part about this suit, however, is that the collar of the jacket is partly white, which, to me, feels very poetic. I also like how it features a loose fit, unlike the usual dandy style that’s tailored to fit.”

9. White shirt
“A white shirt is another basic essential for all seasons. I like this long and oversized version by Loewe, which is not only a standout piece on its own, but also gives a contemporary spin to any formal suit. Alternatively, you can also wear it with a pair of jeans or simple black trousers, for an effortless but presentable smart casual ensemble.”

10. Slip-on sneakers
“Instead of formal dress shoes, I chose to finish up this look with a pair of sneakers. I like these ones because even though they are in a lace-up design, the collars are actually elastic, so you can easily and comfortably slip in your feet and go.”
