As much as we’d all like to travel 365 days a year, the reality is we all have a mountain of duties that need to get done every week. Still, even if we can’t run away to our favourite vacation spots, we can always bring the vacation to us. To that end, Valentino Garavani has introduced their new My Rockstud bag collection for Pre-Fall 2016, adorned with a variety of themed patterns, materials and colours inspired by various countries including Japan, Jamaica, the United States and Italy.

Tie-dye inspired
New York-inspired selections (HK$29,300 and HK$20,000), with elements influenced from the American-invented tie-dye technique.

Submerge yourself with the rich culture of Jamaica with bags covered in the Enchanted Wonderland pattern featuring erupting volcano and stars in contrasting colours of red, green, blue and yellow. Next, admire the classical antiquities in Italy with bags featuring beads and studs that resemble architectural landmarks. The Japanese reference, meanwhile, is relatively subtle, with an emphasis on hues inspired by the cherry blossoms. As for the New York-inspired selections, inspirations were drawn from tie-dye (a technique invented by Americans in the 1960s) as well as the luxury nightlife, where ladies travel in black limousines with style.

Japan-inpired
Japan-inpired My Rockstud single handle bag (HK$19,900), capturing the sweet hue of cherry blossoms.

The My Rockstud bags all come with detachable shoulder straps and a classical “V Rockstud” name tag. Some of the styles also allow for personalisation — one’s initials can be placed on the front leather strap. This season, the brand is also launching a new style: the small saddle bag. You can learn more about the bags in this globetrotting collection by watching the video below.
