To Joseph Krug, founder and winemaker behind the elite Champagne House of Krug, creating the perfect blend expression of Champagne took refined maverick and obsession with details, and he made sure to note down every step of his journey in the dark cherry notebook he carried with him everywhere – a colour that has since become the signature of the House of Krug. Resonating with these common values, along with the century old history that dates back to mid 1800s, the artisans at Parisian shoemaker Berluti took inspiration from the symbolic colour, and recreated an original dark cherry patinated leather especially for Krug, a premium leather that has since been available to request for both shoes and leather goods at Berluti stores worldwide.

This year, as a treat for Krug lovers and travellers, Berluti continue on its collaboration with the Champagne house, and presented us with two limited edition bags: Short Journey and Long Journey. With only 100 numbered examples available in Berluti boutiques worldwide, these exclusive dual-purpose bags are especially created to carry bottles of Krug Champagne or Berluti shoes, and feature an outer zip pocket with a patinated Venezia leather zip-pull – a design that is derived from its emblematic Un Jour briefcase.

The Short Journey, which is the smaller version out of the two, comes with three removable compartments, a bottle of Krug Grande Cuvée as well as two Joseph glasses — specially designed by Riedel to honour House of Krug founder Joseph Krug — in an annel pouch. Alternatively, this multi-purpose bag can also hold a pair of Berluti shoes and a shoe care kit. The Long Journey, meanwhile, is larger in size and features six removable compartments, accompanied by a bottle of Krug Grande Cuvée, a bottle of Krug Rosé and four Joseph glasses. It can also hold up to three pairs of Berluti shoes.
