Bottega Veneta’s The Pouch

Weekly Obsessions
Pernille Teisbaek–Stylist and blogger from Copenhagen, Denmark

From the enlarged intreccio on clothes and bags to the very sleek square-toe strappy sandals, new creative director Daniel Lee’s works for Bottega Veneta have shot right to the top of every fashion insider’s wish list—mine included— since the collection’s first debut. One of the many highly coveted pieces is The Pouch (HK$19,500), which feels a lot like a modern-day iteration of the iconic The Lauren 1980, and features a much cleaner and contemporary aesthetic. The calf leather looks even more buttery smooth in this minimalistic and voluminous dumpling silhouette with soft folds, which also gives a modern sensibility that is just too hard to resist. —Cindie Chan, Style Editor

Tom Ford Beauty Soleil Blanc Shimmering Oil

Weekly Obsessions

The most-grammed poolside accessory du jour may well be one of those ridiculously oversized straw hats, but I’d beg to differ when it comes to showing off your summer skin (granted, having a physical barrier to protect from the sun’s harmful rays is very important!). For that sun-kissed glow that lasts all year long, I’m lusting after Tom Ford’s newest Soleil Blanc Shimmering Oil (HK$830/100ml). The house’s Soleil Blanc has always been a firm favourite of mine for summer fragrances, and this new body oil combines the gorgeous scent with a lovely, lightweight body oil. With gold leaf and platinum flecks, the oil features a fine luxurious shimmer that makes your skin look amazing, whether as a moisturising post-tanning finish or to accentuate and give the look of lengthened limbs by catching all the light. —Evelyn Lok, Associate Editor

Celine ‘Telepathic Love’ collection

Weekly Obsessions
Whether it’s Gucci, Valentino or Dior, it’s become somewhat a regular thing these days for fashion designers to collaborate with artists for a mash-up of creativity, all in the effect to offer fans something unexpected and artistically unique every single season. Celine is no different. This season, Hedi Slimane has partnered up with American artist Anneli Sanaye Henriksson, who came up with a ‘Telepathic Love’ print for the brand that is both eclectic and whimsical. Lately, I’ve been looking for a nice coin case to hold my change, so I don’t have to keep throwing them loosely inside my handbag. This version above (HK$4,250) looks nice and practical, but so does the rest of the collection, which consists of a wide range of other products including backpacks, small leather goods, shoes and ready-to-wear. —CC

Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Barakuda for ONLY WATCH 2019

Weekly Obsessions

Last week we reported on the brands participating in Only Watch 2019—the latest instalment of a biennial charity auction held by the Monaco Association against Muscular Dystrophy (AMM). We’d initially planned to keep our write-up brief, limiting ourselves to five timepieces, but upon revisiting I couldn’t help but make an exception for this Fifty Fathoms Barakuda (approx. HK$103,000-$159,000). Blancpain’s latest dive watch takes the quintessential design codes of the Fifty Fathoms circa 1960 and upgrades them with the very latest in horological know-how. On its face, this is an extremely handsome, wearable and traditional Fifty Fathoms, but flip it over and that’s when things start to get more interesting. The movement powering it is Blancpain’s self-winding calibre 1151. Thanks to the twin barrels and silicon hairspring, this is likely to be the most hardy Fifty Fathoms yet (the power reserve maxes out at 100 hours), making it an excellent option for both diving and office activities. —Randy Lai, Staff Writer
