As editors at Lifestyle Asia, we’re privileged to get a first look at the most exciting new luxury goods every single day, but with so many new releases rolling out all the time, it’s virtually impossible to cover every single lust-worthy find we have our eyes on. That’s what you’ll find in Weekly Obsessions: a running list of highly covetable items we’re currently mad about — because if it’s on our radar, it should definitely be on yours, too. From the must-have shoe of the moment to age-defying beauty products, scroll down to see what our editors are obsessing over this week.

Dior's Mykonos Book tote

Lately I’ve been poring over all the picturesque images from a friend who was recently on vacation in Santorini; as I was reminiscing over my own trip at the paradise island far too long ago, I noticed that Dior has just chosen its equally beautiful neighbour, Mykonos, as the location for a pop-up store. Though it doesn’t look like I’ll be travelling back any time soon, I am still finding myself lusting over all the exclusive pieces that have been especially created for the pop-up. The Dior Book tote, in particular, is amongst my favourites as it’s covered in the house’s iconic monogram for a retro flair, and embroidered with the name of the island for ultimate vacation vibes. —Cindie Chan, Style Editor

Rolex Oyster Perpetual 39

The newest Oyster Perpetual releases are a potent reminder of why Rolex has such pervasive mindshare amongst most consumers. For 2018, the Swiss marque released two new dial executions in its classic range of time-only watches: sunburst black and a glossy verging-on-ceramic white. This kind of visual shakeup (particularly in white) embodies what Rolex does best: painstakingly refining the familiar until it becomes fresh and exciting again. While available in five different sizes — 26mm, 31mm, 34mm, 36mm and 39mm — the white variant of the Oyster Perpetual 39 is the most visually arresting of the bunch. Every stylistic element interacts harmoniously; and the result is a daily wearer that firmly adheres to mid-century design codes whilst simultaneously “popping” on the wrist. Randy Lai, Staff Writer

Votary London Cleansing Oil

Sad confession: I’ve been plagued by whiteheads for as long as I can remember, and no amount of scrubbing with foam cleansers, spa facial extractions, or even the supposed fool-proof Korean double cleansing could remedy the situation on my nose for more than a day. Just this weekend, I got to try Votary London’s much-hyped Rose Geranium and Apricot cleansing oil (HK$480 from Joyce Beauty). Created by British makeup artist Arabella Preston, this cult-status oil cleanser managed to gently yet thoroughly melt away dirt and makeup — I could even comfortably rub around my eyelashes — and most importantly, my skin was left comfortable and glowing, thanks to it being packed with good-for-you botanicals. My skin feels so good, I barely need to moisturise or do much else afterwards. It’s been three days now, and not a whitehead in sight. I think I’ve found my new go-to cleansing product! —Evelyn Lok, Associate Editor

Alexander Wang x Magnum cooler

Just in time for summer, Alexander Wang and Magnum have teamed up to create a special ‘bag’ to help us beat the heat. Taking inspiration from the iconic igloo mini playmate cooler, the designer created a luxury version (HK$8,700) that is handcrafted using the iconic Igloo cooler mould, completed with a removable plated stainless steel insert for all your chilled delicacies. —CC

Charlotte Tilbury Collagen Lip Bath

Hongkongers have pretty interesting and ingenious ways to cool down during the summer, from those ‘Bajiu’ portable USB fans to sticking cool patches under their clothes, and of course, ducking into an air-conditioned shop whenever convenient. While Charlotte Tilbury’s newest Collagen Lip Bath (HK$280, part of the brand’s ‘Beauty Filter’ collection) touts its lip plumping abilities foremost, its cool and minty sensation when applied it what has me obsessed. Worn on top of lip colour, the subtle pearlescent shine and glossy finish gives off the look of a sultry 3D pout. But it’s also incredibly moisturising, featuring marine collagen and coconut oil for extra hydration, making it great as a soothing balm even when applied thinly. —EL
