As editors at Lifestyle Asia, we’re privileged to get a first look at the most exciting new luxury goods daily, but with so many new releases rolling out all the time, it’s all but impossible to cover every single lust-worthy find we have our eyes on. That’s what you’ll find in Weekly Obsessions: a running list of highly covetable items we’re currently mad about — because if it’s on our radar, it should definitely be on yours, too. Fendi ‘FendiFrenesia’ scented Baguette bag
I’m all for creative innovation, and a recent collaboration, unveiled at Art Basel Miami Beach, has really caught my eyes: Roman fashion house Fendi, Parisian perfumery Maison Francis Kurkdjian and Canadian-Swiss artist Christelle Boulé have joined hands on a special project, presenting the fashion house’s iconic Baguette bag, all created using Kurkdjian’s patented scented leather. The result? A scented Baguette bag giving a leathery and musky gender-fluid fragrance (a special concoction, named FendiFrenesia, that was created for the collaboration), artfully showered with shades of the Fendi yellow to offer a multi-sensory experience to its wearer.
Each bags comes with a 5ml bottle of the FendiFrenesia eau de parfum, including the one that is in a miniature nano version that can be used on its own, or attached to your bags like a charm. Sadly, the limited-edition scented Baguettes are exclusively available at Fendi’s Miami Design District boutique, and the nano version (approx. HK$4,908) can only be purchased from Fendi’s Miami boutique or online from the US and Europe, so make sure to call your friend for that special favour real fast. —Cindie Chan, Style Editor
Tom Ford emerald shawl-collar velvet smoking jacket
With Christmas right around the corner, you best believe I’m flipping through my bookmarks looking for the best in sartorial holiday attire. This plush smoking jacket (approx HK$23,327) realised in a rich emerald velvet by American all-star Tom Ford is the definition of an indulgence: it’ll be too warm most of the year; is prohibitively expensive; and all but demands a bow tie and opera pumps. Still, the heart wants what the heart wants, and in the words of Mr. Ford himself “nothing takes colour as well or looks so rich [as velvet]”. More so I’d wager when said cloth is cut with such flair. —Randy Lai, Watches Editor
Drunk Elephant F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial
If Drunk Elephant’s cult-status TLC Sukari Babyfacial was what you use to whip dull skin that was acting out into shape, the freshly dropped F-Balm (geddit?) Electrolyte Waterfacial (HK$410) is the Pocari Sweat for our hungover, parched and wrung out skin for the holidays. Used as the last step in your skincare routine, or even just smoothed all over as an overnight mask before you hit the sack, this new hydrating mask is a much-needed cocktail of lipid barrier-healing ingredients including niacinamide, sodium PCA, plant squalane, omega fatty acids, antioxidants and five types of ceramides. The result? Even after a big night out I’ve managed to wake up with crazy dewy, smooth skin as if I always drink three litres of water every day. Tiffany Masterson and the Drunk Elephant team have done it again. —Evelyn Lok, Associate Editor
